Back and more glamorous than ever, Strictly Come Dancing opens its ballroom doors for 2013, revealing a glittering line-up of celebrities. Who will find their perfect partner and lift the glitter ball trophy? It all starts right here.
Hosts Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly put the sparkle back into Saturday nights, as the series shimmies onto screen with an exclusive red carpet premiere full of old-school Hollywood glamour.
After a trip down the red carpet to face the flashbulbs and adoring fans, the celebrities will head to the dance floor where their professional dance partners will be revealed, and they perform as a group for the very first time.
The celebrities will face the judging panel of Strictly royalty, Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and head judge Len Goodman, with world-renowned ballerina Darcey Bussell returning for her second year on the show. Stars Rod Stewart and Jessie J will also perform their latest singles, and The Strictly Champions of 2012 - Olympic gymnast Louis Smith and Flavia Cacace - return to perform their celebrated Charleston to really give this year’s celebrities insight into just what is ahead of them!

I preferred their Samba personally...nice to see Flav and her overbite back tho'!:D
I gotta be honest, I never got the hype though I'm sure that he's a lovely guy.
Ergh. I don't like Jessie J. I can't stand the way that she uses her voice. She shrieks everything rather than just singing. Someone should tell her that there is more than one way of singing.
On the positive side tho, those watching live will have chance to nip to the loo!
Yesssssssssss I love that charleston; My favorite dance of Louis and Flav. Oh this is going to be GOOD; I am even more excited now :D:D
Rod Stewart - indifferent; but Jessie J ? Thank goodness for Sky+ !
Ditto Rod Stewart. Really really cannot stand his voice either. As I'll be watching live, this will be two good opportunties for a loo and drinks break.
VERY excited about Louis & Flavia back for the launch.... Can't wait and yeah Vincent & Flavia will be back for a couple of showdances, and are also paired with celebs on the Xmas Special
I agree and have always thought they should do this. It would be a nice touch at the end of the series and better than Bruces shenanigans over the past couple of years!
Quite agree, Dilly: We'll still be seeing Vincent and Flavia a fair bit but I think they now have the best of both worlds - i.e. links with SCD and autonomy outside of it. They are so fortunate that their talent has brought such success with Midnight Tango and their new venture.
I think the BBC obviously rate them very highly when they are able to concentrate on their new show while at the same time able to keep their feet in the SCD door. They would have been a big loss to the show (IMO) and it will be good to still be able to see them from time to time.
Ooo it'll be lovely to see them dancing together again
Me too, I am quite giddy..
Supposed to be going to a party on the 7th, didn't really want to go anyway, how sad will it sound when I tell them I am not going because its the strictly launch!
I was supposed to be going away for that weekend but have cancelled due to money but also slightly because of SCD.
Glad it's not just me then!
