And for all those saying this isn't Eric's show, take your blinkers off.
This discussion is totally useless, you must have been seeing a different show than the rest of us.
No one denies Eric is a favourite character, but it's not in any way or form his show. Well you do not even need to go to a True Blood forum, you can have this thread as an example , people will watch or un watch the show regardless of him. True Blood is about a Universe, people watch the show because they like watching that Universe. Eric could go and True Blood would still be True Blood, of course it would be a loss for that Universe, but saying that he makes or breaks the show is total exaggeration.
Being a popular character does not make him at all the main character. His character grown but the show is not about him.
That's just what I thought would happen, next episode, until I read that this was the finale. Thinking about it, I'd prefer Eric to go out burning in the snow, a suitable and darkly comedic end for a great character.
True Blood needs to finish, now, before they completely wreck all that made it good. Sam as Mayor, you're joking. Suki and Alcide, nah, he's not even dead, everyone needs a good vamp in their life, sphericals. It might seem like a great idea to cross True Blood with Walking Dead, but in practice the new direction would be as phoney as One Direction!
We all know he'll survive and so it's a bit of a cheat. I also don't think he's a character that will be missed, in my view, anyway. Never been an Eric fan.

That's me told then. I'll go away until next year.
This show needs to end it next season. I became completely bored by the end of it this year. So predictable. In fact I would have loved to have seen a 'vampire/ faye' Sookie... Perhaps it would have made her character have a little more 'bite'- Pun intended.
I really enjoyed this season, such a relief after the dire season 5. I would have liked to see more of Rutger, he is such a good actor but I thought Alex was excellent most of the time he was on screen, he can really act. I like how it has come back to Bon Temps with the original cast all together again. I like that Bill and Alcide are more like their original characters, lets hope it continues that way for next season. I got fed up with all the extra stories and too many people coming in but not doing anything, Warlow was a bit of a wet weekend after all the build up. Looking forward to next year now, still hope Sarah Newlyn meets a grisly end
Season 7 wishlist (from/inspired by the TWOP thread) ....
What do I want?
Season 7 To Be The Last: I love the show but it's probably time to end it and seven seasons is a good run for any show really.
Vampire Zombies Not The Big Bads: Something else to be honest. In a similar vein to either Marnie or Maryann, two of the show's best villains. Sarah newlin returning doesn't count.
Sookie/Alcide: Sorry, Eric and Bill fans but I prefer her with Alcide.
Storylines For: Tara/Willa and something interesting for them individually as well, Lafayette to get a boyfriend and for Holly to actually be an active witch instead of a support system for Andy and Arlene. Jason/Jessica/Violet/James to be interesting as well.
Fairy Stuff: More on Sookie's finite powers, more on Niall and maybe a reappearance of Hunter. Well maybe.
Fangtasia: Run by Eric and Pam again.
Better Promotion: Cast shots, concept trailers, etc. HBO kind of let the side down this year in that regard.
Do you reckon they announced it was the last season next year due to the amount of damage control the showrunner Buckner had to go on after the season finale?
I'd love to see Sookie telling her many suitors to feic off and choose herself but I know that won't happen. I just hope she doesn't end up back with Bill.

Pretty much yeah.
Eric, I like him but he's not the be all and end all of the show though.
I know the books are centred around her, and the show is too somewhat, but I can't bloody stand her.
*Raises hand*
To be fair, she has the occasional good moment, about one per season.
I don't she is really annoying. I find both versions are irritating in their own way. I thought book Sookie was better than the show one though

Showrunner Brian Buckner has said that

Thank goodness for that.
Besides too obvious anyways, plot wise.
I love her on the show and i loved her in the books, it's rare for a female character to hold all the cards.
I do wish Bill would take a back seat.

Same here.
I'm not surprised that Season 7 has been announced as the last though.
