Favourite bus routes

What are your favourite scenic and/or useful bus routes? They can be either near where you live or in another part of the country but should either go through some spectacular scenery or link two places of interest/significance.

My favourites are:
  • the Transpeak service through the Peak District from Manchester to Derby
  • the 555 in the Lake District, especially the bit between Windermere and Keswick
  • the X2/X3 between Bristol and Portishead because, er, they go to Portishead!

So, what are yours? I'm after real hidden gems that people from outside the area might not have heard of or considered using before.

There's a new blog, gbbusroutes.blogspot.com that is featuring routes from all around the country and is looking for suggestions of ones to cover.

Shruuup and rejoice :D Or summat.

Anyway, on topic, I quite liked the bus journey from SE London to the centre. Number 12?

And the overnight ones from Glasgow to London. Bit mental them tbh.

I've never been on it but I expect the Yorkshire Coastliner route is a good one!

#23 in London. Past Paddington Station, down the Edgware Road, along Oxford Street, down Regents Street, up the Strand, past St Pauls and finishes off at Liverpool Street Station.

Get a seat upstairs at the front for a great view of a shedload of London landmarks.

Most of my favorite bus routes are either now defunct or have been merged with bus routes I hate! :(

    It used to...

36, 36a, and 36b . All used to terminate in the Lewisham/Forest Hill area. I used to get them home from work in Vauxhall Bridge Road

    I like the 12/13X in Brighton http://www.buses.co.uk/travel/coaster12.aspx

The 77 is good when the open tops are out as they are now

The 11 is great for that as well.

The 15 was good when it went to Paddington then Paddington Basin, didn't like it when it was cut back to the current terminus.

I have quite a few favorites,
    Merseyside X2/2X-437
    London 11-23-607-X68-N9-N15-N207.
Birmingham 900 & 997 used to like the 979 but that was withdrawn when the Metro started.
    West Yorkshire 576-X6-X84
