Temperature up to 28 for London area by Thursday . So we had a very good summer and maybe this will continue through autumn..... Let's hope so. After last summer and winter we deserve this.

Yes,it's been a way better summer than the last few years. But I'm actually looking forward to the cooler temperatures and the changing colours of the leaves.Autumn is definitely one of my favourite times of the year.
Well of course that depends on whether you use the meteorological or astronomical autumn. I obviously prefer the meteorological method as it means that 20th of December is in winter not autumn and 20th June in summer not spring. Makes much more sense to me.
Does anybody think of December as being an Autumn month or June as being a Spring month?
The pair of you must have been really surprised by this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/topics/weather/9948524/When-will-this-winter-ever-end.html
Those of us who regard Summer as the warmest three months of the year; i.e. the period from June 21st to September 21st or thereabouts, and Winter the coldest - 21st December to 21st March - were less than shocked.
If we get an Indian summer too... well that'll be just perfect.
Sept & Oct are usually nice in the UK. Do u remember about 2 yrs ago it was 17oC on 2nd Nov??
This is why i love and holiday in Sept!
Yes it is a shame, but as leisure time is more scarce in Sept/Oct, I make full use of it.
There is a sort of urgency about making the absolute most of it before we decline into the inevitable misery of mid-November to February.
There was. Unfortunately from April 2012 until June this year, the weather was diabolical. The summer has been great, but far too short so far because it was so long arriving. Hopefully we will get a lovely Autumn to compensate.
Nah I'm sick of the hot and humid weather. Can't wait for the wind and the rain.
I normally welcome warm settled weather in September and October because the sun is not so fierce and it is porssible to go out in it without being fried. This year however, I am more than ready for cooler weather. Well at least it's getting dark at a more civilsed hour now.
I can see why the so called meterological seasons start on the first of the month, just for the convenience of it.And it's very unlkely that the three weeks that the seasons extend into the month will have any significant factor in the overall statistics.
I am not a banner waving pagan, but I am seriously into nature and the cosmos as a whole. So I just go along with how things work astronomically and accept the slight anomoly.
I really do hate the term 'meteorological' in describing the seasons though.I think they should refer to them as the 'Summer Quarter',or Autumn Quarter,etc..It is a lot more of an accurate description.
Which is strange really, because when I was at school it could almost be guaranteed to be raining on the first day back after the summer holidays, as if to compound the misery
By the time June starts almost everything is in full bloom, it doesn't feel like spring and by the time December starts almost all of the leaves have fallen off the trees, it's definitely more Winter than Autumn.
20th June is usually warmer than 20th September.
