As we have only seen the contestants once there's no way anyone can judge anyway.
Fair comment & I apologise for what I said, however if she continues to shout like previous Shouty singers I.E. Misha B, Treyc, Amelia Lily etc etc, then I hope that she gets to the lives, gets voted off & won't be allowed to reapply next year.
But that is only if she shouts, if she can sing a song without shouting all the way through it, then she will have my full support.
Just found her on facebook! We have two mutual friends!! As soon as she said she was from Croydon, I just knew that I would know someone who knows her lol.

I can't deny that she's a good singer but, to me, her voice is nothing special. Would the judges still have talked about the "emotion" in her singing and how she told the story or whatever if she given them that 'sob story'?
Totally agree. The fact that she name-checked Teddy Pendergrass as an influence not only scored major 'genuine artist' points with me, but indicated the kind of R&B singer she actually wants to be. It's not the yelling, wailing version a la Leona/Mariah/Beyonce etc, but a throwback to those classic R&B/soul singers of the past. Her singing the Emeli Sande song wasn't an accident either - it allowed us to see a singer who takes her time interpreting lyrics and conveying emotions. It wasn't perfect, not by a long shot. Her voice is untrained, and she needs someone who can teach breathing technique and stamina. That's what this show should be able to give her if she progresses. I like her far more than the vast majority of people they gave passes to tonight.
I did not see it as a sob story she cried, I didn't.
She answered the questions asked, that is her life. Working where I do, I know her story is far from unusual.
Average singer?
We'll find out.
I would rather one of Hannah got though than any number of teenage pop princesses or (heaven forbid) the quirky chirpy singers.

I agree that she's nothing special so does that mean I have no taste as well?
My favourite artists include:
Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, John Legend, Maxwell, Bobby Womack, Teena Marie, Mary J Blige, Donny Hathaway, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Angie Stone, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, George Benson, Sam Cooke, Quincy Jones, Lou Rawls, Incognito, Jean Carne, Jones Girls, Sounds of Blackness, Archie Bell, O'Jays, Terry Callier, Billy Paul, Roy Ayers, Donald Byrd, Herbie Hancock, Curtis Mayfield, Sly Stone, George Clinton, Miles Davis, Bootsy Collins, Bill Withers, Jr Walker and, of course, Teddy.
Everyone who doesn't agree with you doesn't have 'no taste' - they just have different taste to you. I don't like Hannah because I don't like that style of music or her style of singing but I accept that other people do. You would hate my taste in music and I really couldn't care less!
Trying to win a debate by saying anyone who disagrees with you has no taste - or 'end of' - is a bit immature tbh. You need to be able to make you point with clear examples while still managing to be respectful to the person that you are trying to convince.

I respect everyone's taste in music. We all like different genres of music, but if i dont like someone else's music i dont make offensive remarks about them. What's the point.
Not at all, but if some think that then i apologise
You are rude to people who don't agree with you. You were exactly the same with your posts about Gamu and you told me I had no idea what a soul singer was.
Now, I've listed many of the artists I love in my post above so I'd like you to take a look and see how you think I don't have any soul credentials

i have read the list of artists that you like, and i like many of the same artists that you do. II like people such as Beverley Knight, mica paris, India Arie, Jill Scott, Joss Stone, Gregory Porter etc.

And yet you have stated that people who don't agree with you have no taste or don't know soul on many occasions
Maybe you just need to realise that your opinion isn't FACT and that saying others FMs have no taste, don't not what they're talking about, calling them fools or telling them to shut up isn't really the most constructive way to put your views across

Okay, fair enough, As we like a lot of the same artists lets no squabble. Peace.
I despair - reading the spoilers I hope she didn't choose her own song, it's right at the Leona market.
She should go for Mad About the Boy or Mercy Mercy Me if she gets through to boot camp.

Tedious sob story, average singer.
I didn't mean as in her voice. I just meant that kind of appeal to the audience like a similar effect.
Agree with every point that you have made.

Very true.
We were meant to hear about Hannah but they did not do the same for all the contestants, so you know from the off who the producers are highlighting.
This is the kind of unfair manipulation that I dislike.

She'd be out by week 4
