Most annoying words/phrases

Read a dreadful "How's Your Fanny" magazine this morning (yes, I deserve it) which contained the phrase "this season's hero piece" to describe a trendy item of clothing.

What the hell? I'm also getting very hacked off with "mixologist" (didn't they used to be called barmen/women?) and the use of the word "purchase" as well.

What words/phrases get on your tits? The more pretentious the better/worse!!

    Unnecessary new constructions.

"My bad": what? My bad dog? My bad headache? Doesn't mean anything.

    Political Correctness.
At the end of the day.
"Dude" when used by English people.

Oh and another one: "get your pash on".

I read far too many of these stupid "How's Yer Vadge" mags.

The phrase 'absolutely' when someone agrees with someone. It's too smug and self satisfied.

I agree about "my bad." I hate it.

Also, when people say "this", especially on here. I can't stand it, it really bugs me.

The way that (usually young) people drop the word "surreal" into conversations.

Are they commenting on psychedelia or the surrealist art of Salvador Dali or Andre Breton? No. They are using surreal (wrongly) as a synonym for something they consider slightly odd or vaguely strange because they think it makes them sound wordy.

"Hey! I turned the TV on and there was bloody football on instead of Corrie. Surreal!"

Words are only annoying if used in the wrong context.

Haters, that is one incredibly over used, annoying word. I can't stand people that say "Haters gunna hate" idiots.

Any 'words' that are derived from the mis-spelling of another word, such as 'pwn', 'pron' and....well maybe that's it, but they're bad enough.

Any reference to something still happening even though it's the 21st century. As if after the millennium all the worlds problems were suddenly resolved.

Any music artist that has these cults following them tend to come with annoying words and phrases.

One I spotted recently - fashionista  I swear this has only recently been made up!

'My bad' is annoying, especially English people saying it (as opposed to Americans).

The 'absolutely' one reminds me of the programme Twenty-Twelve, the comedy about the Olympics :D

Going forward (corporate speak for "in the future")
Coming up (as used far too often by TV presenters)
Road map (meaning plan, as in "road map to peace")
Journey (where nothing geographical is meant)
