The actual city size of Los Santos itself is just a bit bigger than GTA IV's Liberty City and Alderney combined, so think of the city as the GTA IV map, and the rest is all expanded from that.

So, did you bag a review copy and know this for certain or are you just repeating what has already been said officially?

I thought the city looked small as well but plenty of people are saying it's the same size, or slightly bigger, than Liberty City from GTA4. If true, that's pretty amazing. There looks to be smaller town-type settlements here and there as well, and I suspect there'll probably be other stuff in the woodland areas like cabins and the like.
I just love how varied the environment looks, though. I loved Liberty City but it was all urban and nothing else. The only area with anything resembling countryside was Central Park, and that wasn't that big. This, however, has cities/towns, woodland, forests presumably, sandy areas, mountains, etc. It looks incredible.
It's packed with a lot of stuff. I think it's the best of both worlds.. they've clearly got a very packed city and they've got lots of more open land but with little towns and such. I like the look of it. Can't wait to get a fast car and drive around the coast.
If that scale between IV and V is accurate? I'm one happy little rambler, can't wait to explore the vast countryside, it's going to be epic. That being said I always prefer those areas in open world games, Cities are always a bit meh...

I was thinking the same. Hopefully it scales up quite nicely though. Hope there's a lot stuff to do in the countryside!
Looks good and 3 runways I like runways
It's getting closer and closer...

So is that map genuine then Ash?
Yep, it's from the Brady Games Guide.
@mred2000: We don't get review copies, but we get other stuff.

If this is for real, all my concerns are gone.
How do you know it's fake ? Congrats on identifying what an island looks like.

Thank you, I was going to point that out to him but was just going to let them find out in time
Has anyone made a comparison of the San Andreas maps and this one? That would be worth a look.
