Good song, daft video. I wonder if she realises most of her fans are kids? Not very smart her current displays.
Oh the old 'think of the children' argument. Have you heard the lyrics to half the songs in the charts? I guess it's fortunate that kids won't have a clue what most of them actually mean. As with nudity, it's not harmful to children because its sexual meaning is only appreciated by people who aren't children any longer.
It starts, guess we can expect more similar videos since that daft rule change on the Hot 100. Miley's trying far too hard to shake off Hannah Montana, which is ironic because she was outgrowing the Disney image gradually by starring in films like 'LOL'. Dunno what it is with these stars who begin all wholesome *cough Rihanna*, then think they've gotta simulate sex and violence to show they've 'matured'.

You do know how to read, right?
Miles Cyrus rose to fame as Hannah Montanna, a kids show, those are still her main fan base. This video is clearly not aimed at kids, her main fan base. That's a mistake IMO.
That's the point, "think of the children"? You saw the word "kids" and instantly thought of this, am i right? Even though i said no such thing?

Reading comprehension is a thing of the past.
So is politeness it seem.
So she should limit herself to PG videos and music because she was a child star? Does the same criteria apply to everyone who happened to be famous when they were a child?
That's a big limitation on anyone, especially now that services like Netflix (and the kid's TV channels) mean that shows like these will be repeated for decades to come.
There is no need for Miley Cyrus to be naked in the video. I think she is trying to push the boundaries further, to be more controversial than the rest. Attention seeking attracts publicity and people. It's sad that there is a person in the world who wants her body to be online for the whole world to see, who is so desperate for success and afraid of not succeeding if she isn't as controversial as she is in that video, and has such low regard for her body that she has basically told the whole world in a video that it is a sex object. It is sad that when somebody does this sort of thing, rather than reject it, millions of people defend and embrace it.
This isn't just about children, but it should be considered a right for them not to have their minds exposed to and shaped by the pornographic filth the music industry is releasing.
Haven't we been here before girl seeks credibibilty sheds clothes somehow it's never felt more desperate.
It doesn't seem desperate in the least to me. It seems brilliant. She's the most talked about person in the world practically, for like a whole month now. She knows exactly what she's doing and why, and people are responding EXACTLY how she wants them to.
The nudity is to show how vulnerable and "exposed" the bad relationship has left her.....not a shameless ploy to get extra hits for the video by seeing a nudey Miley...........
I really hope this is an ironic comment.
I understand the metaphor but it is then totally ruined by having her ride around on a wrecking ball without a care in the world and then, bewilderingly, licking the end of a sledgehammer.

Unless your intention is to be taken as a serious artist then you might prefer them to talk about your music rather than how tacky your video was...

If you really want to see a blatant display of flesh in order to sell a song just look at Peter Andre's video for Mysterious Girl.

Poor girl. Why does she have such cheap tattoos? They look like biro doodles.
