So its okay for the scum Obama and the idiot Cameron backed the cowardly Western media to label Assad a dictator but keep siding with the oppressive Saudi Royals who have been oppressing their citizwns for hundreds of years?
Saudi has one of the worst human rights records but Obama the obomination and his silly side kick Cameron would continue to champion Saudi and fight for regime change in moderate Syria.
In Saudi its illegal for women to vote In Syrian we have women in power
Saudi its illegal to practise any religion bar Islam whereas in Syria where you are free to engage in any religion.
Saudi its illegal for women to driver - In Syria anyone can drive
Saudi its illegal for a woman to have a job or travel alone without the permission of a male Guardian.
And for the real fun bit. When there was a demonstration for democracy neighbouring country in Bahrain. Saudi backed with American and British arms sent in their army and wiped out the protesters. But guess what? The same Saudi/USA/UK are supporting the so called rebels in Syria who say they want democracy. Even though most are foreign jihadist!
Loving the double standards!

This ^^^ and loads of money... and they buy the planes and deadly weapons France, US and GB like to sell to the rest of the world... and allow Western military to put bases there.
Plus they fund horse racing and therefore get to sit next to a smiling Queenie at Ascot.
You seem to have a crush on him
The one and only correct answer.
Oil. What else?
It is only the oil that protects them and the rest of the World desperately needs an alternative to oil or, at least, an alternative, long term source to Saudi Arabia and its allies so we can shed our dependency and do something about the neo-mediaeval outrage that the World has to tolerate.
2. They buy US and UK arms
3. They let the US have an airbase there
The US isn't interested in Syria cause of the people or human rights issues its because the Syrian government is more friendly to Russia than the US - if people and human rights were the reasons for military action then the US would be doing something about Eygpt, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Israel etc
Syria has oil, not big fields, but they have oil.
And Gulfsands petroleum has been totally buggered by the war in Syria
Put extremely well:)
That's why we keep Saudi onside.
So, reckon that has pretty much answered the OPs question
Syria has massive oil and gas reserves up in the North East close to the Iraqi border area.
Estimated to be the 3rd largest untapped known reserves in the region.
I speak as an ex employee of a massive multinational company that operated in that area.
Hence the conflict. Saudis are supporting salafist/wahaabist "uprising", therefore US has to.
Otherwise 9/11 again. It's that simple.
A quarter of Saudis are below the poverty line.
I think the ruling families of the gulf states are mainly dying from crashing high performance cars or morbid obesity. We live on a sick planet.
"we", eh??? That explains a LOT....
القزم
Would also explain the anti-Obama rants.
How so?
The saudis wield huge political power simply because they are the largest oil producer in the world. I doubt the "west" actually thinks of them as a friend or ally , merely trade partners.
Doesnt this tell us that the WOT is a sham and our governments actually support extremist islam to use as a imperialist tool? Nobody in western government actually cared about 9/11 or the media would have been talking about saudi arabia. The fact most funding for extremist preachers in Britain comes from SA. We used al quida as a tool in Libya and now in Syria. Not to mention the funding of it in the first place with 'al quida' translating literally as ' The Database' - as in the database of contacts the USA kept as record of its funding.
Seems to all point that al queida is a western intelligence front or at the very least a useful tool
