On Talking Bad, Vince discusses why Walt left his watch at the gas station. I'd just assumed it was because he didn't want to go in and pay in case he was recognised. The real reason shows their astonishing attention to detail. I will put this in a spoiler ...
Partly "artistic" but primarily continuity - the S5E01 flashforward in the diner when we first saw hairy Walt had been filmed much earlier, and he wasn't wearing a watch.

Shit!
I'd forgotten him taking the watch off; it looked significant at the time. But that's ace.
Thought they played that ending absolutely perfectly. Gave Walt just enough redemption without making him a hero or letting him escape the consequences of what he'd done. Fantastic finale.
Mostly, I just wanted to see Todd die a brutal, painful, slow death. And they delivered!

I loved the little nods of respect between him and Jesse at the end.
I suppose it would have been nice to have a teeny bit more of Walt Jr. in the last one, but then with how it all went down, it probably would have felt a bit crowbarred in ..
I wonder if he unconsciously left the watch at the gas station as he didn't want to damage it ?. Jesse gave it to him for his birthday so maybe it was a sort of fatherly instinct ?
That was amazing! I thought he'd go after Gretchen and Elliott so loved how it unfolded, very good, and as someone else said, totally keeping with how Walt would act, as he's really not some kind of gun toting maniac, killing people for no reason.
It was the ending I was hoping for, as I was team Jesse. Walt definitely redeemed himself though and I was willing Skylar to give him a last hug as he walked away.
Fantastic series.
What I really loved was the scene between Walt and Skyler with Walt finally admitting the reasons behind making meth - he enjoyed getting recognition for something, something he was very good at. And the very touching scene with him stroking Holly and then watching Walt Jnr for the last time. So heart breaking.

I liked the ambiguity in that scene, too... partly he was confessing to his motivations, but also he was letting her off the hook morally- by saying essentially "I'm a terrible man who's done terrible things for terrible reasons; none of this is on you". She needed to hear that.

not one weak season, and brilliant final episode.
For me Breaking Bad achieved all of this.
What a TV show. So glad I discovered it during the early days. I think it makes it seem that much better that the journey lasted 5 years.
Easily one of the best TV shows ever made.
A friend of mine who's in AA pointed out to me that there was an NA keyfob... nice touch, again with the tiny details.

And the identity of the "hitmen" was just perfect as well.
The episode has been transmitted, how long do we have to wait for people to watch it? Till the weekend?
I didn't come here till I'd seen the finale. Others need to do the same.
Final body count; 270
I think sales of stevia might go down.
Now THAT was an ending!

I didn't loath Walt one bit ever..he was the perfect anti-hero. I even had a little moment in the final scene. A superb character and perfect ending.
I doubt anyone will top this show for a long long time to come.
maybe that will be resolved in the better call saul spinoff?

He is STILL there......

Loved the ringtone on Todd's phone:):)
