I can get youtube to work, but it won't let you access your subscriptions, usually you tap the youtube icon on the top left & a menu opens with all your lists in & subscribed channels etc. All it does it open a blank box with "An error occurred" in it  Kids been playing with it so I'll wait till he goes to bed & try uninstalling it & putting it back on,
I can on my Nokia Lumia 800, or are tablets not so enabled ?
As you can with almost all smartphone’s be it iOS, Android or Windows and any tablet that has 3G capability built in but not Wifi only tablets.
Like I said, I have not checked the past 6 months but unless they have changed the way you register i.e. via the devices phone number then it will not work on Wifi only devices.

I see Skip, maybe this would be better for me then as I need it to Skype and W/App would be a bonus.
Looks like I am now getting a decent wifi link.
Also you can uninstall any apps that you down load yourself but you cannot uninstall any of the pre loaded stuff
You should be able to disable built in apps though, if you go to the apps setting and select all you should be able to click on a built in app and disable it, so at least it goes off the screen and won't look for updates etc.

Does that disable them even after you reboot, or just that session?
Double check that is the 3G version because it seem a good price even if it is an older model but why I say double check and even though they say it has a mobile connectivity in their offers it gives a choice of buying with a Mifi dongle.
Got my Hudl this morning, gave it the 3 hour charge before using, got a soft-touch blue case. The general purpose cases for all 7 inch tablets looked nice.
The system itself runs really nicely, about the only problems I've had is that Android OS itself maybe isn't *quite* as smooth as on Nexus - (Play stores app list doesn't scroll quite as smoothly, maybe that's just me though). Part of me assumes this is just a software issue, rather than a hardware one, because apps run smooth as butter for me so far.
Video runs fine, Blinkbox and Netflix both stream at really nice resolutions - Netflix occasionally has the odd "hicup" when you start a video, but settles quite quickly. Overall it feels great, the getting started app also suggests a lot of really great applications if your a bit overwhelmed by Google Play's offerings : )
Overall pretty impressed and pleased with it, sure it's just a run of the mill tablet, but it's well designed. Tesco have at least tried to make the tesco apps not too irritating that your rushing to get rid of them asap. The getting started app is actually useful to newbies, and they've done what they can to make it it's own thing without locking it down like the Kindle Fire.
I was in the Tesco in Coatbridge tonight and saw the hudl display there was quite a few of them sitting on the bottom shelf. The hudl looked quite good but I really want a second generation ipad mini.
The hudl is a good idea though as it is affordable for parents to get children or for people who want their own tablet instead of sharing the family iPad.
I wonder if a 10 inch hudl will be made at some point. I am quite impressed with my samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 the screen is not as responsive as an ipad but it's a minor issue.
Bought one of these yesterday and think it's absolutely brilliant. Watch out for the price of accessories though as Tesco want £15 for a micro HDMI to HDMI cable which is easily available on Amazon for under three quid.

Playamonte about your desire for using Whatsapp on the Tesco tab, well passing by my regular visit to Modaco today I noticed the Tesco tab is all ready getting a lot of interest over there but thought you maybe interested in a work around for Whatsapp that can be found in this thread.

This bit was interesting also, I'm going to try it later.
"Settings > Apps > ALL
Find tesco apps, tap one, tap Disable. Go back to list, tap the next one, Disable. Repeat until you have disabled all the apps you do not want. Turn off the tablet then turn it back on again. Tesco apps will be disabled, prevented from running, taking up memory etc. They will still remain on system so you will still be able to update the tablet when updates are made available. I advise not to delete the system apps from the device that you don't want to use. You'll get no extra benefit, the system won't run any quicker and all you'll do is break the device so it'll no longer be able to get updates."
The more you use it, the more its shortcomings become apparent. No restart (only off/on/airplane) Screen shot (volume down + power) is a bitch & you usually get the volume control dialogue in the image), some apps won't work in Landscape (bbc weather, some news apps) Sound is pretty appalling to be honest & not very loud at all. My S3 is louder & better. USB port is on the bottom of the device, one of the sides would've been preferable. HDMI out cuts off occasionally for no reason.
Device is unusable when writing to the internal RAM (like transferring music etc) it simply does not respond.

6/10 for updated score.

Well unless they have changed things you can not use Whatsapp with any Wifi only device.
Ok- thanks.
Would the ROM have to be specifically written for this device? If so is it likely anyone will make one for it do you think?
Keep an eye on the xda developers site, and the Android Tablet Forum:

I doubt that any updates that Tesco provide will include root because they know that the first thing to go will be their own pre-installed app

My Nexus does

Oh good I was wondering, thanks
Not brilliant tbh, not very loud either.

Nexus price it ain't either.
Skype doesn't need 3G, that happily runs via wifi - I've had it running between my mums Archos 101 Titanium and my Nexus 7.
And that one that you've linked is a regular Nexus 7, no 3G.
