Katy B is back with her second album, titled 'Little Red'.
As a pretty massive fan of her and her music, I'm eagerly anticipating her new LP (rumoured to have an early 2014 release date), especially when I think of how good her new singles and her recent Danger EP sound. To me, they're a fresh, catchy step up in quality and continuation in style compared to her previous material.
For those who may have missed out, her new singles are:
Katy B - What Love is Made of
Katy B - 5AM

You should get her first album. It's really good! I got my copy for a fiver from a college CD fair so you should be able to get it fairly cheap.
Not since 2011
I loved the danger ep and the lead single. Bring it on.
I hope songs from the danger EP make their way to the album in some deluxe edition form or something.
My guess it is a song from the upcoming album

Actually it's the B-side to her new single 5AM. I downloaded it when I downloaded the single.

That's the first time I've ever heard her singing a ballad and I must say I'm impressed. It shows off her singing voice very well. I still love her dance songs though. I'm addicted to 5AM at the moment!
Thanks for the links to two very interesting songs there.
I love I Like You, I really like the house influence. Very Disclosure-esque. Wise move to show that she's not just capable of post-dubstep/UK funky but that she can infiltrate other areas of dance, such as House. (secretly crosses fingers for an admittedly highly improbable trance track ) I hope we get more like this on Little Red, if we do then we're in for a critical darling and a commercial success
Crying For No Reason is a complete surprise but one I welcome. Not sure how well it would potentially go on Little Red (unless Little Red isn't going to be all dance tracks I suppose). Still, it's always good to display your versatility, vocals and songwriting prowess, as she has done here.
Go Katy!
I'm sad to see it only charted at #14 though as it deserved top 10.
I love that song but I'd describe it more as mid-tempo than ballady. Does the intro sample another song as I'm sure I've heard it somewhere before?
And, according to WhoSampled, Go Away samples two songs, Lyn Collins' "Think (About It) and James Browns "Godfather Runnin' the Joint".
I listened to the two songs, and the samples used are just shouts and a short percussion fill.
Still buying her album though, the other singles are perfect
I haven't heard either of those songs, but the shouts at the beginning sound kinda familiar.
Announced a little while ago but this is the artwork and tracklisting
Would love to know why What love is made up has suddenly become abandoned.
