Is this acceptable?

I was looking at text operator jobs (to earn some extra money) and there are vacancies available with a company with this condition: you have to answer 2000 at least texts a month just to get paid and be kept on the team (there are other targets you can choose when applying). The first 100 texts you answer won't be paid, but will serve to cover "a training fee". Everything will be done online anyway, both the training and the actual job.
So if you don't do at least 2000 texts in a month, your contract will be terminated (fair enough), but you won't see a penny either. That doesn't seem fair to me... I answer, say, 1999 texts and don't get paid for them? After all they will benefit from the work done, so that work and the hours put in need to be paid.
I know you agree to this condition when applying, but is that acceptable to ask in your opinion?
I decided not to apply for this reason.
Also, they can't guarantee that each person they take on will have 2000 texts available to answer every single month.

What are the text messages about/where are they from?
You answer texts sent to a premium number, usually erotic messages, but not always. Is it clearer now?
You can do the chat over the phone or just via text.
500 a week could be a tall order
I can imagine its quite easy to do that many texts if they are about that sort of thing, you may as well give it a go?
There can't be too many variations.
I think the OP answered his (or possibly her) own question; they chose not to accept it, therefore it wasn't acceptable.
PS I've just realised - since it's all text then it's an equal opportunity job.
How much do you get paid for answering the texts as well?
What kind of saddos get their jollies off to text messages anyway?
Bit like most internet message boards really
You go on message boards pretending to be a woman and send sexual messages to random people for which you charge a small fee?
No I don't but you would be surprised on message boards how many of the female members turn out to be male
Over the last 13 or so years I have been a mod or admin on a few sites and this has happened the guys pretending have even shown is their PM's from male members asking for pics and a lot of other stuff
One we found out just as the site was closing down he came out and told us the truth another time as he knew we could see IP's he let us know as he signed up a he also signed up as himself.
Me: Oooo, I'm have a bra on.
Them: Yeh?
Me: Oooo, and a cardigan. And some long johns.
Me: HULLO?
Sure, I may be a bloke, but I think I've nailed this.
I think it's the customers texting this number thinking they are gonna chat to a hot girl when it's the operator behind it in reality (it could be a man or the typical housewife).
That is normal though there was a bit on a talk show about this once and they said that most sex line operators are in their 50's -60's and look more like This than This
I agree I don't think it's fair if you put all that work in. 2000 text is a lot. I don't think I could manage it
