Disgusting behaviour. And it's not like it happened years ago either and she might have 'changed'. I doubt she's changed her behaviour in a matter of months - the producers are just helping gloss over it all, hence the public apology. If she was really sorry, she would make a personal apology to her victim and family. It only happened mere months ago. She should be booted off the show.
I feel sorry for the victim and her family - I hope she's managed to get over what happened. Must be horrible to see someone responsible for an attack being shown up as amazing on national television.
It wouldn't be irrelevant if you were her victim though, would it?
We all make mistakes and learn lessons from them.
I remember Emily in series four kicked out over video of her happy slapping another girl. If Tamera does commit criminal offence and video footage of the alleged attack comes to light whilst on the show the producers will kick her out without question.
Sorry, but you've only managed to rank up fifteen posts since 2010, yet still feel entitled to make sweeping and quite serious accusations about other forum members?
Ah I see, you have to make posts to form an opinion, i'm more old school, and tend to read to form my opinion.
You've spoken of one thing, you don't know Tamera, yet you write in droves on here, castigating her, because of what you read.
I write in droves on here castigating her? Hardly, I have participated in a few threads where the topic has been raised to give my opinion and then defended my opinion. I hardly ever mention the girl.
She's in this competition based on her singing, allow it to be that, some people really live in goldfish bowls.
So we try to break people down who don't agree with you by making out they "live in goldfish bowls".
Grow up. Not everyone will love her as much as you and no amount of petulant stomping of feet will change that.
ETA: How come whenever a constant on this show has some kind of unsavory past or personality, their fans resort to personal put downs and insults to those who dislike their favourite?
because she'll make loads of money for them. If they drop her someone else will pick her up and she'll be huge. It's a sad fact that's why she's still in the competition.
I personally wouldn't support the career of someone who was a thug, not in their recent past anyway. Redemption comes over time, not opportunity and an apology when you look bad isn't an apology at all, its saving face and damage limitation, its for yourself.
I wouldn't admire a local thug so I would be a hypocrit to support one because they are talented or pretty or whatever. I know that view may annoy some people but I don't care, I'm not a hypocrit and I have principals and I won't jeopardise those because some interweb fans think everyone should.
But that's the way it seems to work. If they are your favourite then it doesn't matter, if they aren't then it does. The show does the same, a favourite will be protected and someone who isn't will be booted or come under fire.
Spot on. The apology is manufactured and reeks of this kinda "do what you like and then apologise and everything'll be ok" culture that we seem to have right now. Mind you, the MPs with the expenses scandal seemed to have set that particular culture
I agree that someone who's acted terribly in the past for some reason should be able to be forgiven over time, so long as what they did isn't particularly bad, but it does seem that we're just being asked to give instant forgiveness following a tuneful rendition of some or other song.
At first I really liked Tamera even opened her appreciation thread but her attitude has put me right off her.
You have never liked Tamera why lie ? I've seen you slag her off so many times and what attitude ? Tamera has not come across bad in any way since being on X Factor people just love to buy in what's been said in the press .

I agree on the "what attitude" point, I don't think she has shown an attitude as such.
However, the BIB; she confirmed it so it's not just buying into what's been said in the press but an actual fact about her.
If it was just something unsubstantiated in the Sun then I would take it with a pinch of salt.

Why would I open an appreciation thread for an act I don't like? That is a ridiculous statement. I did like her at first but after hearing more about her I decided that I didn't want to support someone who got up to these kind of antics. I think Tamera is very talented and I would still be a fan if it wasn't for her antics.
She's a 16 year old girl so give her a chance and see what she can make of herself on the live shows. The member of Rough Copy was allowed back in even though he missed some vital performances, and has a criminal record. Give them both a shot I say and let them redeem themselves.
What's her age got to do with it?
When I was 16, I didn't go around beating people up just because I felt like it. This story came out before judges houses were filmed. They should've kicked her out then and told her this is what happens when you treat people like shit and act like a thug - it comes back and bites you on the arse. I doubt she's truly sorry about any of it when the show and her fans are making excuses for her.
Let's hope none of your children come home one day and tells you they've just been beaten up for no particular reason. I doubt you'd be so fast to defend the thug, then.

But that's principled and isn't blind. We can't be having that!
No it doesn't make them a bad person but it's double standards to kick out one act for doing something illegal but not another.
I gave Lorna as another example as she was named in the article. Could have used the lad from Rough Copy as well.
Yes Lorna was named in the article but the article doesn't mention her committing any crime... She posed for some questionable pictures years ago and was in some sort of porn film more recently. Oh and her ex-husband was a criminal.
Which of those things should she be kicked out for?

I already said I chose her atrandom from the article. My main issue is with Tamera still being there despite causing someone harm (Emily was kicked out, so should Tamera be).

So you chose her at random and stated she should be kicked out, despite her not having committed any crime?! How very fair of you.
The show can't kick out people with criminal records anymore, after they hired Cheryl for 3 years it would be massive hypocrisy to say its ok for judges to have criminal records but not for contestants.
How is anyone ever meant to move on with their life if they can't do anything because of a criminal record. The police have dealt with the situation and a punishment has been issued. I'd say they shouldn't be in if it was an offence still to go to court etc. They have made a mistake, but we don't know all the details, how did she get into that situation in the first place? what is her side? the other girls side? She could be seen as a positive role model, someone who is moving on from a troubled past and encourages others not to make the same mistakes she did. Obviously it does depend on the offence and how serious it is, but I'm going to give all the contestants an equal chance and see how talented they are and their attitude towards the competition before writing any of them off. I don't think Tamera has been shown to have a bad attitude at all so far, to me she has come across quite shy and guarded.
Also, afaik Tamera has disclosed this to the producers and she has been cleared while Emily's came out of the blue (I'm not sure about this because I never watched series 4).
Ur right, Emily had 2 videos of her behaving badly on Youtube at the time:
1 - Her infamous happy-slap attack on another girl.
2 - Her "pretending" to stab a boy at a party with a carving knife.
I knew she had a taste for green which personally didn't bother me but I had no clue about this. What a nasty bully. A good friend of mine was mercilessly bullied in school by similar vile skanks through pure jealousy, and imo all these people do as they get older is mask their natural horrid nature better. I hope she gets unceremoniously eliminated.
Umm... Chris Brown could write and produce the best record on the planet, after nuclear war where he is the only artist left and I the only buyer, and I would not buy it as I won't support him for what he did.
So you can bet your ass I'll not support some random on a TV show, so you have a really hard sell on that one I'm afraid.
Why are people so obsessed with dragging Tamera down? She made mistakes, when she was younger and immature. She's owned up to them and accepted responsibility. It doesn't take away from her talent, or her potential to make great music. What do you propose she do? Sit at home for the rest of her life and never take any opportunities to improve her life because of some things she did in the past. What a gobsmacking attitude.
Why is her past being overlooked? Simple.....it's her past! She has said publicly she'd done wrong in the past and now wants to prove she can do good. Everyone makes mistakes. I wish her a bright future.

I admire the honesty. Its missed placed hypocrisy though.

Hers were all of 5 minutes ago though. It's not something from her past, saying it's "all in her past" when it was just last year seems odd to me.
How so, I hold people to the same standards and do not create my standards based on how much I like them.

The show had to drop her
Agree with this completely.
