Just watched the extra scene - here's the gist of it:
Alex and Hal are in a restaurant discussing how Alex's family reacted to her coming back from the dead. Hal seems to find it amazing how well they took it. Tom then joins them after speaking to Allison (who is also human now) on the phone, and says that he is meeting her tomorrow.
Hal asks a passing waiter for a pack of cards, and the waiter inexplicably pulls a pack from his pocket and hands it to Hal. He asks Alex and Tom to name a card, which Hal then immediately draws from the top of the deck.
Hal realises that they are getting everything they desire and that they must be in another of the devil's false worlds. The other diners in the restaurant turn on them, and Trinity get ready to take on the devil again.
Matt has said that he hopes to stay on as the Doctor. If Damien cannot have that part, how about The Master? John Simm was good in that part and I think Damien would be equally good. If not better.
I doubt if any actor would pass up the chance to continue in a hit show - though Being Human was a cult show rather than a hit show, thanks to being hidden away on BBC3. But I think the writers did the right thing in writing him out as he was so closely associated with the original trio and they needed new villains for the new trio, once it became clear they were effectively starting again in series 4. I did like him as a character but didn't miss him as there were such delicious new villains to enjoy - bit like the new trio in fact.
How are you enjoying your marathon watch, Gill - have you had any sleep?
I am pacing myself. I have watched Disc One and I must say I watched the extra scene on the last disc! Unfortunately, life, and my non-scifi-loving husband, get in the way sometimes! I am also trying to plough my way through The 4400 at the same time! All go, isn't it?
Just in case anyone is interested Damien Molony and Toby Whithouse are amongst the guests taking part in a cult TV panel discussion at the BFI in London 4th Nov

Here's hoping he gets another TV project soon.
Matt Smith to leave Doctor Who after the 50th anniversary show and Damien to take over, that would be brilliant!
How did you come to that conclusion from this: Suggests the opposite to me?
Got muddled up really. I've seen the scene now and yeah, it does seem like Hatch pulled a fast one.
You're not the first one to suggest that.
I can't see you being the last either:D
Something for Big Finish to look into then??
Or AudioGo as well.
We can hope, right?
Either way it would give the writers a change to rectify the biggest mistake the show made and bring back Herrick

Why Herrick?
We got three series worth of plots for him.

Cheers for that, nice to have it put to bed
Is it me or does Hal look like he's taken fashion tips from Rook?
No tie though! But he does look a bit of all right.
We need to have some more shows/plays/dramas starring Damien Molony.
