It's OK, it's certainly not as good as the other three (I know the third one gets a lot of hate but I really like it). There's something about Emma Roberts that I can't warm to, she put me off watching Scream 4 for quite a while.
It's awesome but they've cut some of it out . The scene where marielle jaffe is killed was cut so much
Didn't notice at the time but watching that scene back on YouTube, yes it was cut to shreds. Why show a film rated 15 at ten o clock if you can't show it all? In fact, why is a film after watershed being cut anyway? That said, it shows how far films have come in terms of how they are rated as I think scream 4 was just as bloody and violent as the first three which were all 18s.
Scream 4 was the first of the Scream movies I was old enough to see at the cinema. I didn't care if it was bad or not, I was just excited to see it. Obviously it's not as good as the first, but I liked how they updated it and included modern technology, which reminded me of the first 3. I'm surprised it didn't have a higher rating. When I first saw it I thought it was just as bloody as the others. Now I think about it though, it didn't quite have the same gore as the first.

Me too. It was a massive improvement on Scream 2 IMO.

same here I was so excited to be seeing a scream film in the cinema I almost didn't care how good it was!
Yeah, I watched most of it but was doing some work so ended up recording it to watch properly at some point. I'd never heard of the Gainesville Ripper case - I thought it was a mockumentary at first!

But it's like a violent episode of Scooby-Doo! Though it's not the film's fault. Things were changed because of Columbine. That's the reason it has the least blood of all 4 films. Don't get me wrong though, Parker Posey is glorious! I also like Carrie Fisher's cameo.

No, it was released at the cinema and on DVD uncut at 15, however, c5 might have bought an already cut version in order for it to be not too violent, or for a shorter running time perhaps. Either way, cutting a film or tv show or buying them already cut in the first place are as bad as each other when it comes to post watershed.

Same here Id never heard about it. It was quite interesting and parts of the film is reflected in the true life story. Scary really

I didn't actually care for Scream 3 when I first watched it years ago, it was after subsequent viewings that I started to appreciate it a lot more. I agree that it's better than Scream 2.
I love the original Scream and thought 2 and 3 were pretty good.
With Scream 4- I'm still undecided. First of all- I really did not warm to Emma Roberts- something very annoying about her. Also, Courtney Cox's surgically enhanced face and plumed lips were a little too distracting. The film seems to recycle the same old formula over and over again, so its becoming very tiresome. In the end, you really don't care about the characters and you don't care if they get killed or not.

I'm watched half of Scream 3 for the first time the other night, still got to finish it (although I already read the ending ), but, for me, it's too comedic.
The first two got the balance right, the third feels like a Scary Movie film, it's gone too far into parody territory imo.
If they do decide to make Scream 5, it needs Kevin Williamson at the helm (even though there is absolutely no chance he'll do it after the way he was treated during the production of Scream 4).

did anybody watch the TV show afterwards
It was cut beyond recognition. Strange as it was on after 9. Won't bother watching any of their Halloween stuff as no doubt they'll cut it all.

but did C5 cut it or was it cut to get a '15' ?
.
It was uncut at 15, but the UK version (at least on DVD) is the PPV re-dub rather than the Original Audio....

Parkey Posey stole that film, she's hilarious. This clip always makes me laugh - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ab6Y2vrTAy0&t=4m17s

Im hoping the rumours of a 5th film are true cause the wienstein brothers want another one and they want this one to be the last one.
