Hello millie. :). Yes, it is sad. :(.

To move on, It is going to be a come down being back in the BBC studios again this week, isn't it.? They'll have to work hard to stop it seeming flat. Some extra glitzy costumes I think. (Just reminded me, I liked Sophie's dress, and the colour was gorgeous, but it was a bit eveningy for me rather than a dance dress.)

I will miss Anton and Fiona tonight. I would have liked to have seen them but I usually miss the Monday night goodbye interview because I have dance lesson then.

I guess we're going to get a lot of ATs soon since only Brendan and Sophie have done one.

My horrible D/O has been and gone.

Oh no, which one was that Jim? Was it this weekend's?

Of course millie, welcome! And Hi to ruby and other new posters to the Step too :)

I think we're possibly heading towards a Susanna/Natalie final 2 so 'opposing sides' are getting a bit carried away bashing who they consider the main threat to their favourite. Sophie got it a bit earlier in the series when she surprised everyone with that Charleston and put herself in contention but it's died down now. I'm sometimes critical of the celebs, the pros, the dancing but some of the stuff out there is really vicious and I fear it'll get worse as the final gets closer.

Good morning! I would not be too upset at anyone being in the dance off, although I would be rather sorry to see Kevin go (and Susanna, despite all the flak she is getting on this forum). But if they did go, then so be it. I would not have chosen Fiona to go this time round based on the DO, but Mark's pleasant enough and does perform more, and Fiona's SCD time was nearing its end anyway.

I don't think you've got anything to worry about on that front Spin :) The momentum is with Susanna & Kevin. Their dancing is getting better and better and on Facebook they are practically doubling the amount of 'likes' for their performance compared to the rest. I full expect to see them in the final. Their Paso was tremendous!

On the subject of Pasos, Ashley tweeted that he and Ola were given the cowboy theme for their Paso. They didn't choose it. I must admit, it was a very bizarre idea and I feel bad now for blaming Ola for choosing it!

I really think the producers should stop meddling and let the pros choose their own concepts for their dances. I got the impression Mark & Iveta were forced into their Bond Rhumba too and that didn't work either. As we head into the business end of things, something like good/bad choreography can make the world of difference - I'd hate to see a couple go out because they were given a crap theme to perform.

    Hello Sid sweetie <<<<mwah, mwah, mwah>>> :p

I've given up blaming the pros too much because it's becoming more and more obvious how little control of each dance they have these days. I can't believe Iveta is choosing what Mark dances either - just another example off the top of my head).

Ola is/was also getting a lot of flack over Ashley repeating a lot of the same steps in their routines, but he's training time is severely restricted by his day job, so I think she does and amazing job with the time they do have together. It's just like Scott and Natalie and I so hope that Ashley can hang in there and not breakdown physically like poor Scott. I loved their Paso at the weekend (the black and red cape was a weirdy!) and voted for them (plus Susanna & Kevin and Natalie & Artem)! :D

Thanks for the welcome. I would like Susannah to at least get to the final but also enjoy Natalie, Abbey and Patrick. Although I know Mark is now the weakest I really like him too.

He wasn't named last week so I took that to mean he wasn't taking part. I don't watch the show though - do they have people joining part way through?

More threads will be locked this week - too many things being said that will cross the line.

Did I say something I shouldnt of?

I think they do have late comers sometimes to upset the apple cart

Hello Millie! I see that some of your favourites are mine too. Of the remaining girls, I'd like Susannah and Abbey to be in the final. What a fab paso from Susannah and Kevin this weekend. My favourite male celebs are Patrick (in the final too, I hope) and Mark for the fun(now that Dave is out :o)

Sid, I was thinking the same about these two dances - disliked both, and now we find out that they were engineered by the producers. Let the pro dancers do what they are good at!!

Edit: Forgot to mention the gorgeous dance from Anton and Iveta during the results show.:)

What do we think of Craig saying on ITT tonight that he thinks Susannah will never be a '10' for him? I thought it was a bit of a strange thing to say out loud. I'd say Susannah is a bit miffed about that if she heard it - i think i would be too. On the other hand i was glad to hear him say he was shocked to see the others holding up 10 paddles for Abby. I do like her - actually i like them all this year which is unusual in itself but i didnt think her QS was a 10.

Cant believe the producers are making them do these dreadful themes - poor Mark and Iveta - and to think i was giving out yards about Iveta and what she was doing to Mark!

Hey Red! Hope your weekend went well. What gets me is that Strictly is not supposed to be competing against X Factor these days and yet the producers are interfering more and more.

It makes me wonder if before each series the producers have a big meeting with all the pro dancers and judges and tell them what tweaks will be happening and that they must do as they are told. That would explain the awful music choices, themed dances and ridiculous scoring!

    Hey Buddy :) *smooches*

Ashley appears to be a very quick learner and he always manages to inject plenty of energy and attack into his dances which is so impressive considering how hectic his life is at the moment. Unfortunately, he just gets slightly overshadowed each week by one or two of the others who produce something that little bit more memorable. Mind you, it was always going to be an uphill struggle when Susanna & Kevin had a traditional Paso with crowd-pleasing music and Ash & Ola were given a Western themed Paso to Bon Jovi! Lets hope he doesn't burn out like Scott.

brendans babe - I reckon Craig was being deliberately controversial with his ITT comments about Susanna. It also sets up a nice "will she / won't she get a 10 off Craig?" story to lead into the final. They do love to manufacture storylines on Strictly I've noticed!

Hey Red - loved Anton & Iveta's number. I thought it might look and feel odd them dancing together but it was beautiful and moving.

I thought Craig's comment was probably straight from the heart, but I don't think he should have said it out loud - he's bound to get flack about it. I remember when he was asked why he never gave Alesha a 10, he said she did something with her foot that annoyed him. His comment about Susanna brought back that memory for me and I wondered if it was because of something like that. I wish he hadn't said it. :(

    Morning Step!

I wasn't impressed by Craig's comment either. It came across as wrong because he didn't qualify what he said, i.e. "She won't get a 10 from me unless............".

He seemed to be prejudging how he thought she was going to progress as a dancer, which is pretty poor for someone who claims he can only judge on what he sees on the night.

Having said that - the rest of them did go a bit mad with the 10's this weekend didn't they?

I would really love for one of the celebs that got a 10 on saturday night to answer to Zoe's inevitable question on ITT `Are you proud of getting 10's`

"nah not really - they were handed them out like sticks of Blackpool Rock so mean naff all really"

They would certainly get my vote to win :)

I was just dropping in to give you my report from the front row at Blackpool, then I realised that the same dreadful old bullies are still lashing out at everyone who dares to have an opinion that differs from their own. So, to prevent any unwarranted backlash, I'll leave my comments open to your interpretation.

Two of the celebs are not as good as they appear to think they are;- their footwork, style and technique is poor - the OTT facial expressions are more suited to the stage than the ballroom - bad acting is no substitute for good dancing.

Three celebs are a lot better than I had expected with good footwork etc etc, they just need a big confidence boost to help their performances.

Others are not as good as they should be at this stage of the competition.

Two of the professionals need to remember that they they should be showing off their partners not themselves. Many appear to be auditioning for DWTS.

Sadly I feel that SCD now has more pantomime content than dance and the overall standards of choreography and dance is at an all time low. :(

We've been invited to the final!

Ooh Wysiwyg, you can't say that and then disappear ;)

I have a feeling that a couple of your criticisms could be aimed at one of my favourite couples, but that's ok. ;)

Before you run away, I wondered what you thought about Karen making such a big thing about gapping on ITT? It is a big issue with posters on here too because unlike other things it is easy to see. Karen actually made the statement that you have to correct the gapping before mastering the movement. I'm specialising more in ballroom nowadays although still do some latin. I go to two different schools with very good teachers. One teacher believes that you shouldn't worry too much about gapping. It reduces over time as technique and movement improves and in any case top level dancers nowadays have a tiny gap between them to aid movement. The other firmly believes that you have to have that body contact in order to move together. I just adjust to whoever is teaching me as different teachers help give a new perspective. :). But I do think Karen is wrong in saying that it is one of the first things you need to fix?

i think you should just go to the final and enjoy it, no matter how frustrating it is.

Forum is vile at the moment :(

I would LOVE to see that happy tissy! :p

Glad to see that Karen agreed with Craig's 7 for Abbey and Aljaz and she rightly pointed out how much easier it is to move around the dance floor whe you don't keep your frame, etc. When Sophie and Brendan were shown, Karen pointed out the lack of gapping etc. Just wish the Head Judge would do his job.

Yes I am. I don't think I have much of an accent, but it's probably stronger than I think. A bit of a mongrel one - though - North, South, with a dash of West!

    ;)

I don't mind what sort it is, as long as it's Welsh, I went to Carmarthen a few years ago and heard a lot of actual Welsh spoken ..... bliss :)
It is a shame Bar Cutler is no more and I'm sure our LCHs have more than one place of employment!

It's getting rather heated on here now as the celebs dwindle towards the ones who could make the final. I reported a post on the spoiler thread at the weekend because it was about another forum member. Apart from the fact that breaks the T&Cs, it was just not on as far as I'm concerned. The person the remarks were about was not even posting on the thread. And we know it will just get worse.

On a lighter note, Anton will be on ITT with Fiona tonight and he always makes me laugh!

Yes, it is a shame, but several of the Cutlerites are still in touch, now James and Pasha are no longer in the competition, I'm sure I've seen them in the Attic Café  I agree that the forum is getting more heated now and it happens every year so I'm pleased that I don't have a favourite because, as you say, some of the comments are too personal, but I haven't reported anyone yet :D

I've seen a couple of posts from TQ this year. She and I have chatted for years and she was the first person on here to buy some of my jewellery! :D

I checked earlier and the post I reported on Saturday because it made very personal comments about another poster was removed. Of course, the problem is even when a post is removed, if it was quoted it stays visible. I hardly ever report posts but this one was not on imo. :o

Reminded me of Mastermind too Tissy! Think I've still got it somewhere. May fish it out next time my niece & nephew visit although kids don't seem to have the patience for board games these days. They're too engrossed in their digital games. Different generation.

Yes ruby, I loiter here from time to time. It's nice that the Step's picked up over the past week or so :) And Jude, sorry I forgot to return your *smooch" earlier gorgeous! X

Spin, I'm a total non-expert, but what you say sounds right. I'm pretty sure in the past Karen Hardy has said gapping is one of those things you fix later on and is forgiven in the early weeks. That said, I think couples should really be eliminating it now, especially if they've been told about it before. And certainly shouldn't be getting 10s if it's very noticeable!

Buddy. I wouldn't feel embarrassed about reporting a personal post.

Tissy, I agree the themes are silly. But if there is a lack of dance content that annoys me more.

Ruby, you mean you didn't venture into the thread for our scintillating repartee? ;)

Sid, I agree that the gapping in Abbey and Alijaz's routine was extreme and so merited a comment, but I do get irritated when people comment on a small amount of gapping. Especially when there are other more basic things to fix first.
