ok my wife has just got a Tablet from China and just been setting it up and for some reason there is no Google play store on it:mad:
Now it has 4.1 on it(jellybean) and i have tried to update it but comes back and says there is no updates for it.
when i go into settings then Apps then All then google play services it says under version 0 and its not taking up anything in storage.
so what can i do to get play store onto it? and how can a tablet have android but no play store?

Many thanks for that.
problem i now have is that when i click on the google play icon it keeps coming up with google play has stopped.
Anyone can make a tablet and have Android installed on it but unless the tablet has been certified by Google then it can't (legally) have the Google services on it. Since having it certified costs the manufacturer money, some don't bother with this step and can hence push the tablet out a bit cheaper, which seems to be the case here.
As has been rightly said, the trick is to get hold of the .apk file (the installer) for the play store and install it manually (which may well be of dubious legality but I doubt Google will complain if you are buying stuff through them).
If you have tried this and it keeps stopping then possibly you have a version of the store which is incompatible with the version of Android on the tablet.
I suspect that you need to find a version of the Play Store app which is compatible with 4.1.
The semi-legendary curse of Android fragmentation claims another victim.
Can i please have a installer link please and also its saying it has jellybean on it.

Settings>Security>Unknown Sources>tick box
If you haven't/hadn't done that then nothing you try would work - doing so might solve the problem for you but if not then there are other apps stores that you can use and at least get some decent ones installed on your wife's tablet.
You will find just about every most popular app that's in the Play Store on all the other stores:
First install Aptoide and once you've done that you will be able to install other app markets such as the SlideME Market and Blackmart Alpha.
The latter is the best site going IMO because they have paid apps on there for free
Give that a try and let me know how you get on.
Good luck
ETA - You can actually add the SlideME Market from this link but I suggest you do it from the tablet because it's easier.
There's also the Amazon Appstore which isn't great but you/she might find some stuff on there that's useful.
I'm working on my laptop right now and so what I've posted will look slightly different on the tab.
Yes have got that Ticked.
i did try Amazon app store but when i try to install it it kept taking me to the google page website to download it and didnt work.
must say i feel like chucking the dam thing now!!!!
You should at least be able to get some apps on the tablet if you do so and I know it's not exactly what you wanted but it's better than nothing.
Have you tried any Android forums?
Android.net
Android.com
Or developers sites?
xda developers
Don't give up - someone on one of the forums will have an answer for you and I know it feels like you're the only person this has happened to but I guarantee that it won't be.
You might find a fix just by reading but if not then just do what you did here and for help.
Best of luck
It's the one I use.

As I said - better than nothing and they do have a pretty decent range on there
Just go in the Android forums to find a Play Store fix because there almost certainly will be one.

Quick instructions for using this application:
Download the application directly onto your tablet or connect the USB cable, enable USB storage and transfer from your computer.
(if your computer cannot see your tablet then open Settings, tap Developer options, tap the top right button which will say "off" then press "OK" on the "Allow development settings?" box. Then press USB debugging, press "OK" for "Allow USB debugging?"
Now in the Settings application tap Security then tap "Unknown Sources". Tap "OK" to enable this.
Open the File Expert application and navigate to the location of the file. If you downloaded this directly onto the tablet then it will be in the Downloads folder. You can find this by tapping the "Folders" tab at the top, then tap SD Card, then tap download. If you copied the application using the USB cable then it'll be in the "SD Card" somewhere.
Tap the application. If you are asked to verify the application then select the first option then tap OK. Now follow the prompts to install the application.
Once installed, open the Play Installer application. Press the button when prompted and your tablet will restart, enter recovery and run an update that will install the Google Play Store. The tablet will automatically reboot and start up as normal.
Once it has finished booting you can uninstall the Play Installer application by holding your finger down on the icon then dragging it to the X or trashcan icon at the top of the screen.

Go into 'Settings>Security' and enable 'installation of apps from unknown sources' and get the installer file direct from Amazon.
(I ended up giving away the tablet in the end but that's another story!)
