So he can scream 'were all doomed', panic people and make them think he is right. Daily Mail tactics.
Or he could have just pretended it wasn't happening like Blair did with the Poles and then call anyone racist when they question him about it
20 odd million of them are coming here to claim benefits
They don't need an influx they can just send the jobs abroad like N-Power have just done today with 1,400 call centre jobs
Of course they do. There are still plenty of jobs that can't be moved abroad.
The plan is to have his cake and eat it. He proposes something that looks good on paper but is absolutely useless in reality. Then when it doesn't work. He turns around and says" at least I tried. That's more that Labour did".
Got the figure wrong first time
Theres already millions unemployed here we don't need any more coming in
That's not relevant to our government. They will let in cheap labour who are willing to take the jobs that locals refuse to take at those wages.
It wouldn't be at those wages if there were fewer in the labour market. Less workers, higher wages and better conditions because the incentive is on employers to retain staff.
More workers. Lower wages and poorer condition because if the worker doesn't want to work there. There's plenty more who will.
My heart sinks when people believe what he says on so many subjects the guy started his working life in the media/PR and that's all he can deliver with no problem grade A BS.
It also highlights the weakness of UKIP they cant expose how many times he has promised some dramatic Uturn with the EU and walks away with nothing.
I just hope I will still be around to see the Libdems totally wiped from the electoral map in 2015
and watch them implode as they try and backtrack on the fact they sold everyone out who voted for them.
"We did it for the good of the country" no you bloody didn't you did it for a grasp at power no matter what the cost to the people most affected and to the principals you put on hold because it suited Nick Clegg and Beaker.
Never thought through and will U Turn soon.
Cameron proving again he is all " Fart and no follow through "
He is sussed now.
Even Europeans have him down as a Nasty Party man
Surely that's a good thing, no?
I'd hate to be standing down wind of you...
Agreed.
He is only talking about it because the polls tell him he should. He is very happy with cheap labour keeping costs down for his big corporate chums.
Indeed - which is why it is incredibly surprising that the Unions are in favour of so much cheap labour coming into the country - who are they supposed to be representing?
Its everything to do with timing, its politically convenient to bring the topic up now for him, it shows that something is being "acted apon" (even though, most of his reform is fabricated, it exists in the present system already, any modifications have to go through the EU, setting things up for a confrontation down the road), it also distracts joe public from other issues
In most cases it does not work - you get cheaper heads but then you pay for more of them. Wage differentials are not as much as they were, you pay for an extra layer of management. There is a high turnover of staff, leading to the use of scripts to answer the phone - many of which will not cover the customers problem.
I did a paper on this a few years ago
I didn't know that, it does seem quite strange.
Which unions are they ?
Is this the quality of debate from the left?
It is a principle of the EU that any person should be able to work in any state. It is therefore not a case of waving some wand to stop it. As it is Cameron is leading on this issue - the German Coalition agreement includes similar proposals - because like the UK they to are concerned for an influx due to the differentials between the German and Romanian economies.
Sadly it is.
The right to work across is admirable. The right to move as an unskilled mass to the country with the biggest benefits is not.
