Why can't they just give us back the old smilies? People really liked the old ones and they'd look just as good, if not better, with the new design. I can understand them wanting to update the site but there was really no need to change the smilies that I can think of.

Of the things to care about in my life right now, the smilies on an internet forum are the top of my priority list. Please resolve this issue. Regards, random person on the internet.

Yes. But they will never come back. DS have already decided that the new forum design is brilliant despite the fact it is almost universally hated.

This is the depressing reality, unfortunately.

The Mods should bring in an automatic perma-ban for anyone doing the whole 'Isnt it funny if I type the description of an old smilie at the end of my post!'thing. It wasn't amusing or clever the first time. The millionth time? *insert roll eyes smilie*

    In a word 'yes'.

I would however like to have more but using the same format as the older ones - if you get my drift.

I voted yes but would have preferred an option "yes but without rolleyes".

The new smilies are pretty pointless because you can only tell what they are by hovering and reading the text. Digital Spy always had much better smilies than most other sites so I suppose they had to change as that's progress (I'd have put a sad smilie here but I couldn't work out which one that was without hovering).

The thought of starting a thread on the new smilies crossed my mind last night, because I find the grinning one :D looks a bit creepy in my opinion, I prefer the old grinning smiley.

Voted No, because they were crap and looked untidy...

I think we could do with a much bigger choice though and confused looks more constipated than confused!

YES, DEFINITELY! Please bring all of the old smilies back! They were so different to each other and brought out more personality compared to these ones! The new ones are just half arsed and too samey looking. They lack so much expression of emotion too, they end up looking more odd and out of place! They're really awful! I've decided to not use them now, it feels somewhat embarrassing and unfitting.

 is probably the only decent one.

Blimey, I've just seen the new site design......Rather extreme isn't it?

OK, let's have a look at the smilies....

They're alright I suppose, do the job well enough.

I'm gonna miss the old blue fella though. :(

I'm greatly appreciating the fact that they are all of uniform size and colour aside from the angry one of course...

    On closer inspection...

The confused one doesn't look confused, he just looks like he's doing a massive poo.

    :s

I shall avoid this one......unless I happen to be doing a massive poo at the time of posting......which is unlikely.
