There will be 14 of us. We rig up a big table using some sheets of wood balanced on our dining table. We are hoping we can just about squeeze everyone round so that we don't have to banish anyone to the sofa with a tray.
Was going to be me, my ex husband, our daughter, his other daughter and my ex in laws.
Oddly enough, that would have been lovely.
Plans have changed now and I will be with my mum and dad etc. 5 of us. Average I guess.
Whats the general view here about having xmas dinner on your knee in front of the tele?? I used to do it when I was a kid, I've got very fond memories of watching TOTPs with my Turkey and sprouts.
We weren't even allowed the telly on. My dad was strict with us and we had to sit at the table. They'll be five of us this Christmas.

Exactly what we do. Make our dinner in time for something we want to see and sit and relax. We have a lovely quiet day and see family on Boxing Day.
I've got 8 Adults and 5 children ,we Adults sit/squeeze round the table and then i bring the coffee table into the dining room cover it with a Christmas cloth etc ,and the 5 grandchildren sit around that at their own mini table ,made up like the Big table with crackers etc
On Boxing Day i just do a big Buffet for us all lay it all out and we all just help ourselves whenever

Good luck! :D
Yikes! Is it a big dinner or a buffet??
It must be 20 years or more since I had Christmas dinner with anyone else.......:o
I remember having a tenner on Desert Orchid that year.....:p
In the dining room, but we usually cadge an extra table off my sister.
Last year was even busier as we had my sister's in-laws up from Kent.
Edit: just to add some context, 6 of those are me, my wife and kids, which would just be a normal meal time (7 if my eldest's boyfriend eats with us).

my mums parents, my great aunt, and then me, mum, dad, and my brother.
We never plan boxing day so I have no idea.
I had my dog for company last year but she fell ill on Christmas Day and had to be put to sleep on 29 December.
