Are you not aware that different people have different tastes? Your tastes do not match those people you have heard praising it. Seems straight forward enough.
That's why no television show pulls in 100% of the viewing audience. I'm told that some people even like Mrs Brown's Boys.
So 89 minutes of drivel for one "huge plot clue" for the final episode? I think that's a poor pay-off.
As I said, I'm NOT saying it's not a poor episode - I've seen the ending already and it's still not great - but I am pointing out that there is some narrative point to it. If you haven't spotted it, I'm sure you're part of a very large majority. The clue is in plain sight, but it's pretty well concealed.
I'm not saying it's not a lightweight episode - it's distinctly average - but I am saying it's not as much of a filler story as it may first appear. There is a huge plot clue for the finale hidden in plain sight.

I don't disagree. But clearly Mary is a key part of this season's narrative. We'll discover more next week, no doubt. Of course, that doesn't make this week's episode any better!

So why should it cause you such concern this time? The viewing figures for Sherlock of 10 million mean that 40 million are not watching it. So anyone who doesn't like it is in the majority and those that like it are the majority.
So why is everyone getting so upset that a minority like something they don't?
