It's yet again becoming the Branning show - only with a different name! They may all 'stick together' right now under one roof, but they'll all be interacting with other characters and branching out soon, which means everyone else will be playing bit parts in the Carter show.
To fair though, the EastEnders cast has been small compared to the other casts for quite some time now, and they have already filtered out quite a few of the the deadweights, so I think we have a fairly sharp cast at the moment.

Well Kat is not going anywhere yet. And I think Jessie is too good of an actress to be axed she was fantastic in the Kat and Zoe reveal episode when she said Yes I Am. If you ever become EP couldn't you keep Kat for me. Do you like Tommy?
Eastenders will have 44 adult characters (over 16 years old) 13 children/baby characters and 1 recurring character (Nikki)
Coronation Street has 52 adult characters and 12 children characters
Emmerdale has 56 adult characters and 13 children characters
So in reality Eastenders could easily cast a few more characters.
That is a very good point. The problem with EE in the past has not been cast size, it is that the storylines are not shared out fairly and characters like Stacey and Ronnie etc got all the storylines while people like Denise got very little in comparison.
I personally would axe Dexter and Jake. I would keep Kim and Fatboy but give them more serious storylines and I would bring in some family for him.

I agree with this. I think people like Bianca, Carol, David, Sonia, Sharon, Dot, Ian, Peter, Lucy and Phil all have a reason to stay.
