Films with similar themes released close to each other
After the news of PSH last night the news pointed out his OSCAR win for Capote.
I haven't actually seen it but I have seen Infamous which came out a year later with the same theme/plot/basis.
Any others you can think of that were released close to each other?

Also Armageddon and Deep Impact released in the same year (1998).
Actually A Bugs Life and Antz were both released in 1998 as well.
Bloody Sunday (the Paul Greengrass one), and Sunday (the Jimmy McGovern one).
The Truman Show - EdTV. Same year. Reality TV.
The Thomas Crown Affair - Entrapment. Same year. An insurance investigator goes after a thief.
Joan of Arc (Milla Jovovich) - Joan of Arc (Leelee Sobieski). Same year. The Sobieski version is a TV film, but it was so heavily marketed that I thought Sobieski was in the Luc Besson film while not realising it was actually Jovovich in the role.
1995 - 1999 was an awful period as I constantly confused similar films with each other. I can't remember the titles, but for a while I thought Jeremy Northam was in Christian Bale's SF film while Bale was in Northam's SF film, both released in the same year with similar themes and settings.
Paul Blart and Observe & Report
Truman Show and EdTV
No Strings Attached and Friends With Benefits (bonus points here for using even the same font on the posters)
This Is The End and World's End
Not a movie - but both "Borgia" and "The Borgias" were released as TV series in 2011. Telling exactly the same story with different directors, different casts and different scripts and screenplays.
Dante's Peak (Pierce Bronsan) and Volcano (Tommy Lee Jones) - released within a month of each other.
Wasn't there a similar film released in the same year as The Core (Aaron Eckhart)?
United 93 and Flight 93.
The Girl and Hitchcock, although the former is set a couple of years later than the latter.
Carry on Cleo used left over sets and props from Cleopatra.
Explains the high production values compared with other Carry Ons.
Also
"Victory at Entebbe" (1976) and "Raid on Entebbe" (1977)
Also, the upcoming pair of Old Testament blockbusters: 'Noah' and 'Exodus'.
Brian Cox playing a somewhat similar role in both movies was rather amusing.
The Prestige (2006), The Illusionist (2006)
I always wonder if the White House attack in series 7 of 24 was the inspiration for both of them.
Conan the Barbarian, The Beastmaster, The Sword and the Sorcerer - all 1982
Also "like father, like son" the year before.
