Just saw on Sheridan Smith's twitter that she is to star in a drama about Cilla's life. I bet it means Cilla will be doing the rounds about it when it's near to being broadcast. I wonder if Sheridan will have much to do with her behind the scenes, and will she ever recover!!

Christ! She must be desperate for work to take that on!
Thanks for that, a programme I'm sure to avoid.

The public don't particularly like her so why bother?
Who is financing this?
Cilla, maybe.
Grrr!!!
She's not worthy of something like this.
Is this a full series on the BBC because it was the biggest pile of doings I've seen in a while ?
Anyway I can't think of a worse combination. Sheridan Smith playing Cilla.
It will be worse than Eccleston doing Paul O'Grady dressed as John Lennon.
The casting director needs sacking I fear.
As it is, it'll be all glossed over and consist of 'Me and John', 'Me and Brian', 'Me and Our Bobby' and 'Me and Biggins'. YAWN.
She doesn't have to look exactly like Cilla Black. Meryl Streep looks nothing like Margaret Thatcher yet she still pulled it off.
BIB, which 'public' would this be?
You mean those on DS or those who've met her when she's not 'on'
The fact remains that lots of people do like her on TV.
I don't watch her on TV, because I don't like the sort of things she appears in, they're not for me, even before you add her to the mix.
I'm still irritated by her mangling of Dionne Warwick songs and call her some choice names just on that basis.
I don't mind Sheridan Smith though, still won't watch this mind.
I have to agree. Can't they restrict it to the time this professional Liverpudlian actually lived in liverpool? That should cut it down to about 5 minutes.
Not that it will be an issue probably.
Brilliant stuff
How very unfair >:(
to rabbits
Id buy THIS for a dollar
Calm down our kid, rather mean methinks, Lennon and McCartney didn't write songs for any old pub singer.
Her early stuff with Epstein and Martin at the helm is top notch chanteusery [?]
I never had any time for any of them. Although I did like Joe Brown as he was a bit different.
My opinion of that awful "shouty" woman has never changed.
On a different thread about her, someone posted a link to a message board, where airline staff give opinions, good and bad, on the passengers they carry. She came in with "nil points."
I do however, think Sheridan Smith can act, but I wouldn't watch this.
