Song suggestions for a wake?
Hi All,
I am in the process of organising a funeral, I wanted to put a couple of cd's together for some background music at the wake ( its at the church hall FYI)
Any one got suggestions of songs that are appropriate for the wake??
Thank you kindly
Rick

I've told everyone I know that I want Nick Cave's 'Death is not the End' at mine (Cover of a Bob Dylan song) but that's probably not appropriate for your loved one. But I bet there is a genre of music they did like.
If all else fails, FlyinBrick''s suggestion isn't bad.
Sorry for your loss.
Agreed. What sort of music were they into OP?
what would the departed want would be my starting point, not DS.
Sorry for your loss.
Just noticed your location
It's going to be Who Wants to Live Forever and Teo Torriate by Queen.
Very good choices if I do say so myself.
Why thank you, I thought so too:)
I've requested Lily of the Valley by Queen, and Eight Miles High by the Byrds.
We also had a banging party in the evening at the family's express wish as my friend was dearly loved by all, and they wanted everyone to have as good a time as possible as they felt that would be the most appropriate tribute to him.
But yes, I'd definitely go along with the deceased's favourite music as background.
He got his wish .........
Regards
Was about to post that myself!
i think queen another one bites the dust is rather insensitive choice, given the circumstances
Whenever there is a discussion on funeral songs, someone always says this. Or Elton John's "I'm Still Standing".
It gets funnier every time I hear it.
Do I know you ?
Love a good party !!
Live long and prosper.......
