For Sweden (I haven't heard them all) I like YOHIO, Helena and Ellen. Either of them winning = happy Euan.

Where was Robin in the bookies list last year?

I've no idea who was favourite at this point last year.

I think Netherlands might end up being very popular this year.

I know we have absolutely nothing on the song yet but apparently they're going for a country/ pop fusion. I loved Birds so anything half as good as that will be an automatic favourite of mine!

I don't want to get my hopes up on the Netherlands quite yet. They did send utter dross for so many years! Last year was probably a flash in the pan.

Let's not get too big headed, otherwise it's that kind of attitude that leads to disappointment.

It's been quite hit & miss for me tonight, Romania & Lithuania have delivered brilliantly but Sweden has let me down (save for Helena) and Estonia wasn't my ideal choice but that said they did well to pick Tanja over that other garbage. :)

See I don't think I'm even being big headed in saying that, the standard of entries so far is just dreadful tbh. And I'm not the sort of fan who complains about it being the "worst year ever" every single year, but the way it's going it's shaping up to be the weakest contest since 2004 for me.

It's Georgia that has me excited - I have absolutely no idea what it's going to sound like but they certainly make it sound as though it's going to be like nothing we've heard before!

    What have the previews said?

Sanna all the way for me. But agree, YOHIO to Copenhagen would be simply disastrous.

Yes! I agree. Hopefully the juries will knock him down and the swedish public all back (Panetoz) realisitically Sanna...lol!

The bookies mainly saw the final last year as a two horse race between YOHIO and Ralf Gyllenhammar. Robin was hovering around 4th or 5th for most of the week as far as I remember.

A fusion between traditional folk and modern jazz with "quotes from Bach", whatever that means (it's got my interest piqued for sure).

I did love the traditional sound of their first entry. Something like that would be fine with me :)

Am I the only one who is rooting for Songbird? I'll get me coat .... :(

Finally sussed out what it sounds like!

    One for the teenagers

Failing Ellen, would have to be Alcazar second, YOHIO (don't judge!) or Ace Wilder - in that order

Really disappointing to me that I don't like Sanna's song, as I think she's a goddess, just that Undo is not anywhere near good enough for her greatness

Oh, and I don't really like Survivor, but love the sassy Helena!

In fairness, Ilse is quite established in her country market and has a few really excellent songs out there. I think it might be a bit more authentic than Believe In Me!

Are they having a Greek or Cypriot jury next week in Melfest?

Steady on! :D I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. Bonnie's drunk granny personality did push me more towards the like end of the spectrum. When someone says country-pop, I expect Taylor Swift/Carrie Underwood and the type of stuff you hear on The Voice USA.

It's not my favourite in the final but I do love it...I wouldn't be unhappy at all with it winning.

I think Songbird is lovely but it also really makes me sad for some reason? Anne says wedding song, I'm going funeral. It's got a really mournful quality to it (but I love it- it's the closest we'll ever get to Joni Mitchell I think!)

Estonia thrown away a top 5 contender for a second year in a row. Very annoying.

    1. Poland
    2. Malta
    3. Romania
    4. Estonia
    5. Lithuania
    6. Switzerland
    7. Ireland
    8. Italy
    9. Macedonia
    10. Albania
    11. Spain
    12. Belarus
    13. Hungary
    14. Finland
    15. Iceland
    16. Ukraine
    17. Latvia

I'm not, not rooting for Ellen, I just like others more. She's definitely in my top 5 of Helena, Ace, Alcazar, Sanna and Ellen.

Oooh wow I've actually heard of that The Teddy Bears song! :)

I love Songbird. Would be very happy with that as winner but this year, the Swedish bit of my heart belongs to Ace.

As for Survivor/Helena - don't like her but found myself singing Survivor earlier as I scrambled eggs.
