This was a great show, wish I recorded it all at the time, the 'best of' DVDs are not good enough
Loved David Gower on it
He was the one with the 'white acrylic wig' wasn't he? Yes - I loved this show too. I really liked Lee Hurst on it (getting a mini-sample as he's on TWS right now).
Yeah, but when TTIAO came along, QOS tried going in a more comedic direction, drafting in McCoist and Parrott as captains to add laughs and compete with TTIAO a bit, but they couldn't compare to a post watershed show.
They should show some of these on Dave as they still stand up well. Was watching the Best of the other week and it's side-splittingly funny, especially stuff like the Musical Chairs they did
That would make sense I suppose. I do remember someone dying at one of his shows though - I think the guy had a heart attack while he was watching him.
I remember Ian Wright being a team captain. He was a miserable sod, as soon as anyone took the piss out of someone he would jump in being all defensive! It's banter you idiot!
I also remember Jonathan Ross because he didnt know a great deal about sport, a bit like me.
As much as I like Lee Mack, it went downhill when he took over from Nick Hancock.

Although I thought that was the best period for QoS maybe in hindsight it was the downfall of the show considering what it's become nowadays.

I have this episode complete somewhere, it was an xmas special, around 97 I reckon
QOS was meant to be a bit more of a quiz show, were as TTIAO was more focused on comedy.
I have a few early episodes complete but would love them all
This! Loved him in it. Wasn't the same at all after he left.
Or was it for a different reason ?
He has alot of back problems..he does still do stand up in his own club i believe.

Mack only did the one (last)series, didn't he?
Your talking about QOS of course? Not TTIAO?
