From the look of this picture

The Rosamund street facade is actually being replaced by actual buildings, in fact, looks like a whole new streets worth :o

Great to see that they have ditched that 'Mural'! Although they probably weren't planning on creating a Big Mural poster On the new lot anyway because they had no Granada office to hide and wall to paste it on. Unless... The wall you can see being build in the photo is for the poster to be pasted onto‽ ‽ hope not! :o

It'll be a row of houses similar to the facade at the back of The Rovers and Edwardian terrace; would be interesting to see if it'll be lit up like those properties!

Sorry if anyone has pointed this out before but has anyone noticed the massive new sections above the porch area of number 4? Compare: old set

To this new pic at a similar angle:

I wonder how they'll get away with that! :o

Indeed, it'll make a much better backdrop than that old picture, though it will make this shot from the 2002 titles look weird

They probably wont mention it, its a good change though, makes No.4 look bigger.

I would imagine they will again be sticking a large backdrop there. I don't think they're building a row of houses. If you look at the image you see the fake archway extending right to the front of whats being mistaken for a facade. If you zoom in you can actually see the mural in front. Don't expect anything ambitious set wise from Corrie.

But if you look close enough on this, you can make out windows and doors on the frame work

compare them to the size of the windows and doors on the other facade and also look at the size of it in comparison to the other buildings. If you zoom in you can see the mural.

Yes I am glad they have made the set more realistic to the number of people living inside of them.
I remember one episode from a while back when there was at least 5 people living inside number 5 and Maria brought Liam round and fiz said that he could lay down in the spare bedroom! I don't see how this is possible as each house only has three upstairs windows (with the exeption of no 7) so with a bathroom it means fiz, chesney Katie, hope and joeseph would all have to sleep in the same room if they had a spare! Mabey they use the back yard toilet as a bathroom...!

That just looks blue netting, it would be weird if they went through the effort of making windows in a facade, if they're just gonna stick a mural on it, the facade could have shops on it, which would explain the bigger windows. If I recall that small area is one of the areas they're currently allowed to expand into

It would be a facade without space for a road or pavement that is built right against the end of the railway arch which you can see extends out of the back of the ridiculous viaduct to nowhere facade. It just looks like scaffolding with blue and red netting giving a vague impression of window shapes. Why would Corrie put the thought or effort into dealing with a design problem when they can just recreate the rubbish looking facade on the new set. The whole is a crap redesign. It looks as unbelievable as it ever did except this time on a larger scale. Corrie just isn't in the same league as other soaps when it comes to production design. Their sets, generally, are crap and don't look realistic.

I think that since they have spent like £10m on the move they should of made a electronic backdrop/mural so it could be changed depending on the time of day and the image could be changed if necessary ect. Just an idea but it would be MUCH more realistic because I can't think of a street in England that has had the same cars parked outside for like 12 years like in the mural and a daytime sky at night!! :D

I noticed that they're using the old dividers on the Rovers tour set
    http://i.imgur.com/eASM4Hj.png
They must have still had them in storage :D

I noticed this too, it would of thought those bouquets would have been burned down in the fire! Bit of a slip up there but it's good to see that their letting the tours visit some of the communal interiors though. I'm definitely going to see the set tours when they open I heard the tickets are already on sale!

Lol, when I first wrote that word in that's what it was autocorrected as! I think that Hilda is controlling my predicted text! :o

Anyway, the model that they made for the new set back in 2011 has a "Muriel" if you look closely at the rosamund st arch area.

That model also has Victoria Court joining to the warehouse side of Victoria court, and doesnt have the building in between Prima Doner and the Brewery, neither of which happened.

To be fair on Corrie, a lot of the bad decisions were as a result of the set being so cramped, they had very little space to make use of, I mean, look at Victoria Street, at Granada, people complained that it was way too small and unrealistic, now its as wide as Coronation Street, and longer than Coronation Street.

There's much more scope to actually do things with the set now.

I think that it was new cafe flat door, It is a new feature in the new set

Although no one knows why it's there because the entrance for the flat in in the cafe room, the stairs go over the kitchen area. :kitty:

You could have a point here about the set model being deceiving Pyramidbread, like in the original designs for the cafe (below) show that their will be two bay windows above and two extra doors below(?) it wouldn't match whatsoever with the interior cafe flat set. :kitty:

Well i watched it all the time in the 90's and early 00's. But haven't been a regular watcher since around 2007 and even when i did watch it regularly i have to admit i never paid much attention to the set.

I did see the documentary about the move though so i know about the extra bedroom window in the rovers :p

Same, I think that once they have started to get in the swing of things in the new set, we will all get used to it and it will be like the move never happened! :D
