The gym isn't going to work with Ronnie in charge. In the real world, a woman on their own would never own an actual boxing gym!
And the scene in the gym between Phil and Ronnie when she put her hands up in a classic boxing pose and Phil did the same, seemingly to defend himself was purely laughable and cringeworthy. How I hate Ronnie now!
It's not going to work full stop. I can't see any of the residents actually using it. Even Aleks, he may chasing tail but surely he's not that desperate!
It should have had a full modernization when Ronnie took over.

She might turn it into a hardcore gym lol to recruit minions lol.
Could Ronnie become the new gangster on the block? If Aleks is going to recruit the gym members for her own little private army? And the boxing gym becomes for her what the club was for Johnny Allen. It would be unorthodox but I'd love to see it.

That would be pretty cool. But you could still do that with a swish looking gym.
Did you see the filth on the walls? Hideous! And yes how anyone makes any money out of it when there's never more than a dozen people in it at any one time beggars belief.
It was implied she took the money from Carl. So it's not exactly ridiculous.
Plus her ex husband was the former owner so I wouldn't imagine he bartered much with her.
When you buy a property in the UK there are checks to make sure you're not laundering money and you have to show evidence of where the money you use to buy a property came from.

This is one of the most ridiculous storylines of late. It makes the 2011-2013 era look award winning.
It's a proper shithole, don't know why anyone would want to go there. It lookd soo gloomy and dull, doesn't really put someone in the mood to exercise.
Jack sold his share of the business to Janine and she inherited the other half of the business from Michael. So Ronnie brought the gym off Janine.
But Michael only died in late October, and he was murdered - in no way would probate be through by now (usually takes about a year). And a woman on trial for his murder wouldn't be able to sell any assets she was due to inherit from him. Not to mention how unlikely it is that Michael would have made a new will naming his wife as the sole beneficiary of his estate. It's totally mad.

Maybe the people that train there have to pay £25k a year for membership? It might work then.

If DTC is supposedly modernising the show (awaiting with baited breath to see Sharon's snazzy new bar) then this 'Gym' has to go and soon.
Anyone else get the sneaky feeling that Mrs White will be next one to be bumped off? Or Adam? Or both of them even? ...
That used to be considered a real plus in the Gyms I mentioned above.
And all the physical hardship, grit, grime, and sweat produced some truly great fighters.
The legendary Thomas Hearns from the Kronk is a very good example.

They need to get rid of the ring and brighten the place up and invest in some proper exercise equipment then we can believe it's a viable business!
Can't wait to see if Corrie's new gym actually looks like one, maybe it give EE a hint.
