Very astute, very funny guy. On a different level to mainstream comedians.

His rant on Ukip was sublime.

The last show was quite funny in that after reading this thread for the last week, this week he had a pop at audiences who liked him because his right on views accorded with their own, and that it wasn't as important that he was funny, but more that he agreed with their views.

I'm not seeing as much celebration in this thread for that as there was for him having a go at Paul Nuttal.
In fact the thread seems to be quieter than usual.

I thought it was a very good episode. The way it worked from the guy going to the toilet, not being allowed back in, and being the only person in the room who could help him with his routine,...just brilliant stuff.

I thought this episode was better. Though I suppose I'm a bit of comedy nerd who enjoyed (Lee's wife) Bridget Christie's last fringe show A Bic For Her, in spite of the fact it was basically an argument for censorship of internet porn, and I disagreed with almost every word. :o

I am disappointed that nobody has commented on the fact that Jefferson is now quoting himself to agree with himself.

    Possible explanations:

    1. His original post was so good that he felt compelled to agree with himself.
    2. He forgot who he was.
    3. He has two accounts and forgot which one he was logged in under.

I rather suspect that his favourite bit might have been the Ed Miliband joke. Was that at 15 minutes? Any way I suspect the Miliband gag may have actually been inserted by BBC executives in order to appease the likes of Mr. Jefferson.

I only quoted myself, because the first post was about how much better it was than previous really bad shows.

And my second one was to point out how it seemed to go downhill again in the second half.

Thus, bringing my observations together to cover the whole 30 padded out minutes.

Yes, I thought that this was a really good episode. I thought it was cleverer than usual, was consistently funny, and seemed to have more content and less repetitiveness.
I think this might be my favourite episode of the series so far.
And did Chris Morris let out a snigger in one of the interview clips?:D

Chris Morris did indeed lose it in the end bit!

Always find Stewart funny but what I particularly liked about this episode was how obviously he was extracting the urine (cake) out of his own onstage persona. The fact that 'Stewart Lee' has completely missed the point of the end of Planet of the Apes and then decides to browbeat the audience regarding their non existent belief that Animals are intrinsically satirical....just wonderful stuff.

The little asides about Brand v Paxo, allusion to Gervais' 'Derek'...there was a heck of a lot in this 30 minutes.

    And he said egg....:)

I laughed a lot. This was definitely a more "mainstream" episode, with more basic comedy "content", as opposed to Lee's more deconstructive approach... it's certainly the one from this series I'd most consider showing to someone who didn't know his work... even the end film (usually by far the weakest part of the show for me) was quite brisk and to the point.

Er, yes? he was in the Comedy Vehicle episode before last-but what about him? You need a predicate not just a subject for a sentence, unless you're just answering a question. Seems a tad incomplete as it stands. Just saying.

It's just funny as it is.

Assault and Battery Part 1 from Warror On The Edge of Time I believe. I googled one of the lines. Sounded good! Thought it was Pink Floyd to be honest.

(Runs out of thread pursued by Prog Rock fans)

Missed the opening show but enjoyed the other two.

Lee has his cake eats it, throws it up in the face of the audience who then eat it and then....well you get the meta post modern idea!

I'd really like to see Bridgit Christies full shows, but I feel I would be doing a disservice to her, as I would be watching them because she is Stewart Lee's wife.
So it is better if I don't watch them, but then I realise the reason I'm not watching them is because she is Stewart Lee's wife.

Maybe I hope they get divorced, so I can watch some more comedy.

thanks, I think that's one of the few of their studio albums I haven't got which explains why I didn't recognise it. Need to rectify that now!

There's nothing "intellectual" about Lee's repetitive burblings. If not for the BBC he'd be struggling to make a decent living.

While Lee Mack is actually a very funny man. Far funnier than the smug ex-privately educated Lee will ever be.

Are you competing with Sol Campbell for number of chips on your shoulder? Very sad person!

Am I allowed to like both of them please thank you kindly very much?

I do prefer Stewart, think he's exceptional, but Mack's good. But if I find that Mack went to a Comprehensive school I might revise my opinion. I did, but generally find such people a load of hobbeledy Hois. Generally.

I haven't got any chips. The chippy one is Lee with his envy of superior comedians.

His hatred of Ch4 clearly hasn't abated. I wonder what they did to the precious little chap.

I'll bet you love being fed warm diarrhoea by Michael McIntyre as well?

It's hilarious how literal you take Lee's on-stage persona. Still, it's getting you the attention you so clearly crave

Apparently not. Lee Mack is far far funnier than Lee but he doesn't cover such "intellectual subjects" as urinal cake.
