I remember feeling very cheated by the ending but that scene is still incredible. And I'm glad he didn't die now. Particularly considering the cock-up they made of the aftermath for Ste, it'd be even worse if he died and it was all "Brendan who?"

I wanted him to die and I will always find it desperately cruel that he was locked away but I've made my peace with it now because there's hope at least.
