There was one with disturbing content about a bloke who hung out in the basement of a pub who had created a tunnel system from the mens urinals to...his face
That really happened though didn't it? They found that where the urinals led to was... That
There was one a couple of years ago who started a thread about incontinence and received loads of supportive/sympathetic replies until he made reference to a nurse changing his nappies and it was realised he was just a fetishist.
Ewwww. Seriously?
There are forums specifically for fetishists, but part of the thrill is talking to non-fetishists about their weird desires, apparently.
Biffo's colonic irrigation thread was legendary, as was the one where the woman was allegedly stuck in her house and suspicious workmen, demented cats and zombies (one called 'Alan') were apparently gathering outside. Well, it was somewhat 'embellished' by FMs but the way that the OP everyone built it up was disturbing but funny.
I find the genuinely disturbing ones are those which start off quite benign but turn really nasty because someone (either the OP or other FMs) have an 'agenda'.
I tend to avoid any threads/links that may involve animal abuse/cruelty to babies etc and after many years at DS I thought I was pretty much clued up on the whole thing but this thread shocked me a while ago nonetheless.
No agenda as far as I can see, no WUM either, just a regular poster who had experienced a very real and genuine fright.
Some of the responses on there left me completely speechless.

However many times this question appears, or will appear, there will always be, for me, a clear uncontested winner every time.
A poster started contributing to a thread about Anders Breivik and pretty much came across as sympathising with him and supporting what he'd done.
If it was a troll attempt, it was pretty low but if it was serious then it was the sort of thing that would, and should, be monitored by the security services.
Yes, this. when the murders were first announced, people assumed that it was Muslim extremists, and there was just a complete outpouring of rage. Then, when it became clear that the perpetrator was a fanatically anti-Muslim racist, some people just could not change track. All that anti-Muslim rage had to go somewhere, so some people carried right on suggesting that if Norway had not 'let them in', none of this would have happened, as Anders Breivik would not have got into such a state.
You can see an exaggerated version if you venture into back-pages of racist sites like Stormfront. Few of them QUITE like to say that killing a lot of innocent teenagers was a good thing, but they will turn every imaginable gymnastic somersault to make it into the fault of Muslims and/ or multi-culturalism.
I'm not that keen on the showbiz forum, but the BB forum is my second home. The striking thing about it is that among the banal, the objectionable and the idiotic, there is so much sheer intelligence on there. Some threads have reached the kind of detailed research and sophisticated analysis that might earn someone a PhD in other circumstances.
I get freaked by the ones with Outraged Of Tunbridge Wells links to animal cruelty - just seems like they're vicariously thrilled either by the cruelty or the idea of beating their breast publicly about it. Genuinely don't get it. As it anyone is going to come on the thread and say the given cruelty/outrage is a great idea...
I used to also find a now banned poster whose named rhymed with 'crappy' intensely, freakishly creepy for some reason and their every post, although clearly a fictional persona, weirded me out. I could always imagine them typing away not in their mum's basement in a pair of baggy grey Y fronts, but actually a bit like that bloke in Silence of the Lambs, wearing a costume made of other forum members' tanned hides, or something...
Disturbing to me, are the ones that literally dissect all aspects of a persons character (whether positive or negative) in the BB forum.
I despair at people who take time off work to 'research' information on the housemates.
I understand that people can spend their money in any way they choose, but in BB you get people talking about spending their leccy money on voting for HM's. I don't expect anyone to agree with me, but it's what I personally find 'disturbing'.

Yes. What a pleasant post. As you clearly know, but other people may not, I recently posted, self-deprecatingly but assuming that I was among friends, I have literally been known to take time off work to research an answer to a post. What a nasty thing to use that to sneer at me on a different forum. Is that really the most disturbing thing you have ever read on digitalspy? Or did you just see a nice opportunity for a cheap shot at another forum member?

Me too. I remember the thread and commented. People remarking about why the OP needed to post and implying it was 'attention seeking' when all the time the poster was just wanting to sound off and deal with a bit of anxiety. Even if it had been 'attention seeking', what's the big deal? It wasn't the provocative or irrelevant kind. Others soon chipped in with their own experiences. Op felt it was ok to start the thread because they had been on DS a while and wanted to share a scary event with other FMs- then gets asked why they were bothering posting by people who had ventured into the thread for a nosey anyway! How ironic!!! I thought the OP's response to it all was pretty cool and dignified, considering, tbh.
Why is it some people seem to get off on putting others down on DS? Debate, disagree and discuss by all means but it was just not that 'kind' of thread.

I hope you didn't spend your leccy money on voting for housemates too:D
That hairwash man mentioned before on this thread was very odd and creepy, you've got nothing on him Wonkey:)
Every time there's a thread like this, I'm always left amazed at how, for the huge amount of time I spend tarting around so many threads, that I've missed all the ones mentioned.
(And reading about some of them, I'm very glad about that!)
Incredibly, the thread was still getting comments on it 3 / 4 / 5 or even 6 years after it was originally started.
Didn't even know such devices were available, let alone from eBay.
Must be a second-hand one lol.
The Derek Branning Having A Poo thread (about soap characters never having a number 2 on-screen) on the Soaps forum was pretty bad - had forgotten about that one TBH.
Sorry, no link - people can search for it if they like - disturbed people, that is.
"Any Other Sufferers of IBS in" is on the "Advice" [General Advice] forum, at the moment.

Lol I have seen normal posters in general, turn into crazed banshees in the BB forum, taking every little thing so personally. I made a quip about a glamour model needing to tone up and I was pounced upon by a crazed poster!

There was one ages ago on Holocaust denial where someone argued that their must be a reason why Jews had brought things upon themselves through history. She appeared to be serious.
I'm glad I missed that thread. That would have been one serious ass kicking from me.

And the various threads of Dream Stuffing about school uniforms and what the kids wore under them.
That was brilliant! The one with the loopy accusations that a group of DSers got together and posted a cat through the mailing system?
Before my time, just searched... Creepy as.
I remember that one :D lol.
That's the one, and the poster who was supposedly really shocked and upset because the cat must have been drugged etc.
That is truly shocking.
It's just completely sick and well, just wrong.
It's Derek Branning. >:(
;-)

An overlooked funny on DS is Scruffpots - The Mouse Must Die Tonight...

And his ingenious trap to catch it

Steak and BJ day.
That wasn't disturbing, it was just funny (of which there are many threads that are like that) TBH.
It's the perverted stuff that's the worst TBH IMO.
Rectal flushing...jeez - I thought I'd heard it all - obviously not lol.

I haven't noticed anything odd about that one
