Some of you may remember me from last year when I told you that I was taking part in my first London Marathon two weeks before my 76th birthday. The response was amazing, and I raised over £1.300 for the Beating Bowel Cancer charity.
I had to back out this year as I had very painful tendonitis in my foot, and was unable to run for five months. Although I am fine now, I had not done enough training and everyone advised me not to attempt it this year.
So I am doing everything to raise funds for my friend Graham who will be taking part in his eighth Marathon. It was mainly through Graham that I managed to complete last years Marathon, even if it did take me over seven hours. He came out running with me every weekend as well as coming to the gym with me and pushing me to my limits.
He is running for MS, a very worthy cause, and if you go to his Just Giving page, you will see that it is a cause that is very personal to him.
I was fortunate last year as I got through on the Ballot, which meant that I didn't have a target, I just tried to raise as much as possible. Graham has a £2000 target to reach, and still has another £600 to raise. To all those kind people who were going to Sponsor me this year, I would be very grateful if you would Sponsor my friend.

That is very kind of you, thank you so much!
That is great, thanks very much!
I think that he will complete it in half the time that it took me last year, but then he is just a lad of 52.
You are very kind, thank you very much!
Your welcome.
Ah it doesn't matter how long it takes though, not really - the main thing is that you get there in the end and the money raised
Congratulations!
If this is your first time, you are in for a thrill. I will never forget the experience of running down the Embankment with what seemed like hundreds of people screaming my name. Make sure that your name is clearly printed on your vest, when you are feeling weary it is the amazing crowds that push you on to the finish.
Good Luck! ;-)
