downdetector suggests they have problems with internet.

    http://downdetector.co.uk/problems/bt-british-telecom

and if you look at their twitter it is 'we are aware of this and are investigating' every 15s.

Fine here in Sussex. Getting normal ping and speeds on Infinity.

Edit: Interesting to see Flagpole's link as it specifically mentions Crawley as having a problem with Infinity, but not here so far. Fingers crossed!

From BT Service Status at 1121:
    Multiple Dialling Codes Affected

    Estimated time to resolve: 2hrs
    Multiple Dialling codes affected

    Impacting service since 06/04/2014 09:30

We're really sorry but we've got a problem at the moment in the South of England area, which means that some of our customers will be having trouble getting online. We're trying to fix the problem as quickly as we can.

Please revisit this page for further updates.

It'll be Infinity and BT Broadband running over ADSL2+ (what most people are on). They both run over the 21CN backhaul. If you're on a small exchange which is still ADSL you'll probably be ok.

Haven't had any problems with my connection today. Unless the first poster's talking about BT broadband and not Infinity.

The major problem yesterday was restricted to the south of England (see Post #5) so Consett and Dunfermline should have been unaffected (as it seems they were :)).

As I've already said Infinity and ADSL2 (BT Broadband) share the same backhaul from the exchange/headend so it would have affected both products.

As I indicated above, that is no surprise, as Consett is not in the south of England (unless someone moved Co Durham when I was not looking :)) or your location is out of date.

I don't know where you live though. Are you in the affected area?

I think I've explained to you before though it's not as simple as that anyway. Fibre cabinets are connected to the nearest fibre headend which is in the nearest large exchange. So that may or may not be the one you're connected to.

What I was getting as is it can't just be Infinity customers that are affected, it must be some ADSL2 customers as well. But I wouldn't know in which exchanges, if that makes sense.
