IS there ever going to be an end to the airplay of 'Happy' by Pharell? I think i would almost rather have no ears than have to listen to it again. Oddly, i did like it at the beginning, but now its just torture to hear it about five times a day on the radio.
What songs have you initially enjoyed, but too much airplay has ruined?

2007: Rihanna - Umbrella (it still gets played at my gym. Her new stuff rarely plays)
2008: Girls Aloud - The Promise (I loved it at first, but it was overplayed on video stations, airplay and virtually everywhere)
2009: David Guetta - When Love Takes Over, Pixie Lott - Cry Me Out (they were my favourite songs when it was released but by hell were they overexposed then)
2010: Florence and the Machine - You Got The Love (Great when it came out until every X Factor contestants auditions with that song. The final straw was when Dannii's show played that song at the very last episode. I don't think there was ever a day that the radio stations did NOT play that song at all)
2011: Adele - Someone Like You, LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem (need I explain? Loved them, but they were unavoidable after a while)
2012: Carly Rae Jepsen - Call Me Maybe (Same as above. Plus, I don't think I ever heard her later singles like Tonight I'm Getting Over You on the radio)
2013: Katy Perry - Roar (Good song at first but the overkill began not only with radio, but commercials, tv soundtracks etc. Plus, upon hearing Sara Bareilles' Brave, a far superior track, Roar sounds very inferior and unlistenable)
Pharrell - Happy is going to same way at the moment.
Emeli Sande - Read All About It. Bloody hell it's a depressing song anyway so to hear it continuously, particularly during the Olympics, was torture!!
The clean one got played
Another one I can think of is Black Eyed Peas - Where is the love. I think I liked it for a week but I remember being 1st year at high school and literally within an hour lunch break it was played in the dining hall like 3 or 4 times!! Even today 11 years on, I honestly would rather jump off a cliff than listen to that song!!
That song was on repeat all the time i can remember.
It seems a very popular feeling on DS.
I have always hated Where is the love. The year that was played to death caused me no end of pain. Initally i thought the song was a joke. Its just terrible
From the second half of 2009 to the first half of 2010 you'd hear it at least twice in every club night and what started out as a fairly harmless and uplifting song got completely destroyed through overplay. Probably oversaturation too, there weren't that many songs like it five years ago but now you could make a whole night's worth of party-on-down-to-the-club-tonight bangers.

That opening piano piece will be in my head forever.
Damn if I'm happy you can slap me right here.
This is what happens when you listen to Backstreet Boys' Greatest Hits in the car.
Amen to Where is the love though. I was in first year sixth form and it was on 12 times in the common room one day.
I mean it's good but come on!
Same for Maroon 5's 'Move Like Jagger'...
