I'm jealous beyond words. Did he have as much charisma as it seems?
He was loaded with charisma and I think that's part of what made him special. I thought he would come on stage with the "big I am" but his manner was almost gentle. Fans were giving him flowers and presents and he took the time to come to the edge of the stage and thank them every time (without missing a beat I have to say). His wife and little girl were in the audience and he got them to stand up and he was SO proud!
I'm glad I got to see him because he is seen as some kind of demi-God these days but I saw that he was just a man - albeit a very beautiful man with a wonderful voice, but very much human.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Yorkie. Such a lovely story, how wonderful you got to see him AND that he was such a gentleman. It's so tragic he died when and how he did.
Jimmy Hendrix. I blame my 26 year old nephew, he's a crazy fan who was inspired to learn guitar cause of his admiration of JH. I'm just a few years older than him so we're also good buddies. Can't beat a bit of Crosstown Traffic:)

My taste is very wide , I was a wee bit of a wild child in my youth and remember that music fondly.

Those who I feel are perhaps past their best and I'd like to have seen in their heyday are Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin.
Would love to see George Michael but tickets sell out so quickly!!
Same here. What I would give to see Hendrix.
