Hendry doesn't sound particularly impressed with Selby's tactics here.

Once again Selby fails to pot the frame winning ball!!!

    The red was frame ball

Twitter makes Wikipedia look like Encyclopedia Britannica. Selby seems a decent guy to me. Ronnie seems the sulky arse.

If you mean by sulky arse that he has mental health problems then yes, you'd be right.

I think this is Selby's, excruciating play and Ronnie missing pots.

Agreed, the longer each frame is, the better for Mark. Ronnie likes to get each frame done with ease.

It's going to be difficult for Ronnie. As you say.. Selby grinds it out and when Ronnie goes for a risky one.. and misses.. Selby mops up.

Nope - the pink was - potting the pink would have stopped Ronnie coming back to the table.

I was out last night and the last I saw was Selby with 4 frames I think. Also slept through the day session so it was a surprise to see the scorline for the evening session.

Going to start to get tense now!

    And back to negative snooker.

I can do tactical and safety but every single frame is doing my head in 😤

The tactics are working, though. Selby is forcing O'Sullivan to play the type of game that he doesn't enjoy playing.

If in doubt, roll the white into the reds. *sigh*

Yes, it's amazing that it's only Selby who you ever see doing that.

Absolutely... Selby knows exactly how to disrupt Ronnie's rhythm.

Exactly, you don't play to you're opponents strong point. That's just silly, weather Hendry likes it or not, it's getting the job done.

You're misunderstanding what frame ball is, by potting the last red it put ROS at snookers required stage...hence frame ball, by definition.

He didn't even go for the pink anyway, he played the black

I might stick some music on to make these long frames go by more quickly - how about Frank Zappa's "The Torture Never Stops"? :D

Not that this match is torture to watch, fascinating evening so far.

I didn't say frame ball - I said frame winning ball - meaning that if he'd potted the pink which he missed, ROS would have needed more than one snooker to win the frame & would probably have conceded the frame.
Because he didn't pot the pink, Ronnie came back to the table to play on hoping for a snooker and Selby had to grind the match out to the last ball.

Selby has the eye of the tiger-he can see the prize and Ronnie is wilting under the tactical pressure.

Ronnie's clearly not at his best - indeed it looks at the moment as if he's had enough. Whether or not this is due to Selby's own particular brand of risk-free snooker is open for debate.

However, Selby is also a spawny get who seems to get the run of the balls more often than not. Always thought that about him.

I'm literally so gutted at how this is going :( it's why I really wanted a Neil/Judd final with Ronnie as well cause at least I wouldn't be as disappointed if they won with them being my other favourite players

I've also always felt as though if Ronnie stopped winning the World title he'd probably retire, and I really wanted him to contest for Hendry's 7 wins record. Doubt it's ever going to happen now :/

I can't see any way back for Ronnie now, as much as that upsets me to say.
