Men's socks when wearing shorts

When men wear shorts and training shoes, or ank kind of leisure footwear, should we:-

a) wear no socks at all
b) wear white socks
c) wear those ankle socks.

I hate those ankle socks - do folk just wear them cos no socks at all is uncomfortable?

I prefer no socks, but then feet and trainers get sweaty and smelly! So I usually wear ankle socks and make sure they're not too visible.

On a festival campsite on dry or damp grass / mud? No socks and an unlaced old pair of trainers (being worn more as a pair of slippers).

If trainers, then wear the ankle socks. No socks on view when it comes to shorts unless you are taking part in sport. Also a big no no is socks with sandels and shorts, NO NO!!!!

Not ankle socks!! wtf are some of you lot like - ankle socks are what little girls wear, they usally have ribbon or bows on them

when I see some of us men wear socks with shorts

I only wear the ankle socks with trainers.

Trainer socks for me. Smelly trainers are not good. Next do some good ones that are almost invisible.

No socks at all with flip-flops or loafers.

A middle aged guy in shorts, with the creases in the front, set off by a nice pair of paisley socks, probably mid calf height, and a nice pair of jesus (no intention to offend anyone of any religious persuasion) sandals, is so sexy!:rolleyes:

The selection of mens shorts at the moment is abyssmal IMO. All guys seem to wear are combat shorts that finish below the knees. I hate combat shorts with a passion!

My preferred mode of attire with shorts is long woollen socks that come up above the knee, preferably in white or black. I know this is not fashionable but it helps absorb perspiration from the feet and the legs too. When I go out thus garbed, I do sometimes attract glances, so I think it probably looks attractive despite not being 100% in vogue these days.

Not being a fashion follower I find Kiwi shorts quite practical.

One disastrous femail fashion is/was bell bottomed trousers/jeans that near enough touch the ground.

I would often notice a girl using these in wet weather where the water has risen by capilliary action towards the knees
