It wasn't really. Even as a joke it was awful But then you take into account the lack of point to it. We know they are gay, who cares? You don't need to laugh and talk about wives because we all know they don't have them nor does anyone care.

Something like "what do your girlfriends and wives think about all this"

Pretty sure they used a similar line on SM:TV Live years ago when talking to the Vengaboys and everyone laughed and moved on. :p

Then again, the world wasn't so PC in 1999.

Oh for god sake. Stop with the "PC GORN MADDDD" crap.

No that's right you can't say anything about gay people these days that you might have got away with in 1999. Too ****ing bad.

People are too PC these days and this thread proves it. Lighten up guys

I'm sick of sexuality being used for TV comic value.

You can no longer use race or make a sexist comment but gay people can still have the piss taken out of them because of their sexuality.

"What do your wives and girlfriends think about your dancing"

He won't dare ask an all black group something racist, but seems that being gay is still a hive of TV comedy.

strangely nobody mentions the million gay jokes directed to simon by david

Recorded it, and started watching at 8.10. Just caught up. What a load of sh*t., as someone said.

Anyway, i was really surprised that Nella Fantasia was by Morricone, I thought it was an operatic aria.

Finally the last act reminded me of morecambe and wise.

Ernie. Rudolf Nureyev was on. Did you see it?
Eric. I thought everybody saw it.

Last two to go through, although i didnt think the french dancers were the second best.

I don't think anyone found it funny - even Dec realised he'd embarrassed himself.

Some just don't seem to get it at all. You can't say the racist things that were said in the 70s either and everyone understands that, but it seems that gay people are still far game to have their sexuality used as a joke by others.

Christ. Is that it? And everybody is getting so offended? People honestly need to lighten up.

Hasn't Walliams been making similar jokes about Cowell's sexuality during the entire series?

They're all arguing about it on Twitter too. Dec may apologise in the results show.

They should have asked that young lad if he'd eaten all the pies. How we would have laughed!

Oooo a bit off there! Having a joke at their sexuality.

We know they are gay is doesn't require underlining for comedy reasons.

He's done that gag a few times, definitely did it with the showbiz 'bears' guys whatever their names were. They actually got the joke though, unlike tonight's guys!

I didn't think Dec's comment was offensive. Just that he has the comic timing of a plank at times.

    ^This.

Their entire act is a lighthearted play on their sexuality, but a straight person joins in with the "fun" and he's offensive.

Some people on here could make a career out of being offended.
