KIm Wilde keep me hangin on
Faster pussycat you're so vain
Bangles hazy shade of winter
New kids on the block step by step
New kids on the block didnt i blow your mind
It's a real "Marmite" version of Tik Tok, I have been listening to her singing for years, well before she became known as an actress, and have loads more of her singing, which were all done before she was famous while at Yale, as she was part of Kurt Hugo Schneider's class.
Talking of which, hear is another great KHS production:

I don't like her version as much as The Supremes' and Vanilla Fudge's versions.
Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah
Soft Cell - Tainted Love
Faith No More - Easy
The Lighting Seeds - You Showed Me
Animals - Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood
Animals - House Of The Rising Sun
The White Stripes - Jolene
Lady and Bird - Suicide Is Painless
Nirvana - Where Did You Sleep Last Night
Amy Winehouse - Valerie
Peggy Lee - Fever
Bauhaus - Ziggy Stardust
Jimi Hendrix and Charlotte Gainsbourg did great versions of Hey Joe
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Roberta Flack's version of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (and I really love Leona Lewis' version too for that matter), the original version is HORRIBLE imo.

I think that's because people don't know that Roberta Flack's version is a cover. I've heard people say that Leona Lewis's version isn't as good as Roberta Flack's "original". It's the same with 'Killing Me Softly With His Song' in that people think Roberta Flack's version is the original.
Oh yes, I love Yvonne's interpretation of that. The Bee Gees' version is a bit singing by numbers, if that makes sense and the production is horrible.
I didn't know Girls' Talk by Dave Edmunds was originally an Elvis Costello track as mentioned earlier in the thread. Dave's version is far superior.
Better than the original -
Soft Cell's Tainted Love (Gloria Jones)
The Specials A Message to You Rudy (Dandy Livingstone)
Ken Boothe Everything I Own (Bread)
I do know what you mean. As someone else said, I also prefer the Tavares version of More than a Woman. I find the woman's voice in Emotion quite annoying but still prefer it to the Destiny's Child version

Yeah, I think that must be the case... it's one of my favourite tracks, and those are the two versions I love most (crazy how many years are between the two!) but I can't stand the original.
It's funny you should mention 'Killing Me Softly...', always loved Roberta Flack's version of that too! aha (and the Fugees of course!)
I'm usually the only one with this opinion, but I prefer the original.
In this case you're not, the original, the Gloria Jones version has more energy and a better singing performance. Different sort of records I guess but I think the original is better. Gloria was a little unfortunate in her career.

Sorry but can't stand the Fugees version.
I prefer Matthews Southern Comfort's version of 'Woodstock' to Joni Mitchell's original.

Thanks, I'd definitely say that I prefer the Chris Rea version
One of the worst cover versions is Westlife's Uptown Girl
Miles better than the original and suited more to a boyband than Rihanna.
Africa (acoustic Toto cover) - Mike Masse and Jeff Hall
Do - Only Girl in the World
"Just A Dream" by Nelly - Sam Tsui & Christina Grimmie
Tik Tok - Allison Williams, of "Girls" fame
Thank you for bringing that into my life!
Sorry, I meant to say it must be one of the most covered songs of recent years.

I like both equally. I also like Marilyn Manson's version.
I prefer Laura Branigan's 'Self Control' to Raf's original.
You've got to be joking, mate.
No. Its only my opinion but I think Bauhaus did a really good job there and I prefer their version of the song.

Here is Will from CD:UK from 2004.
Hey Ya
Doesn't top the original for me. I did like a version Razorlight did in the Live Lounge with a gospel choir but again, not as much as the original.
