I don't think he would, as his dad's smiting meant that the section about his lover, Tarquin, never got his own section in the book as they had to keep it quiet.

I doubt it. Jesus was an apocalyptic preacher, so showed no interest in social and legal reform. He wasn't interested in changing the world, but in preparing people for the next. However, I do think he would have made it clear that gay people are welcome in that new world, while those who judge and condemn them are not.

Great band, dreadful human beings. Apart from Kirk. He always seems OK.

I'm not sure his sexuality was first and foremost in his or anyone's mind.

Elton John thinks he would've supported gay marriage as Jesus is all about "love"

    Do you agree?

No, he would not have. I don't think homosexuality was exactly smiled about among Jews when Jesus walked the earth. The culture was to marry your sons and daughters off to other people's sons and daughters at a young age and produce offspring. I believe he existed as an historical figure though, as a person who upset a lot of people at the time, but I don't see him as a messiah or the saviour of the world as organised religion has made him out to be. There are some excellent books that look at Jesus as the person he would have been living in the region where he lived and in the period of time that he lived.

I don't know why god bothered to make all these LGBT people. If god existed, and he created the universe. And everything he does is perfect, everything is his will, down smallest if small things, why would god create anything that displeases him.

If an omnipresent god existed at all, you shouldn't need a bible. You would just be born to instinctively work his his will......

I don't prescribe to the belief that you either support gay marriage or you hate gay people. It seems like a bit of a straw man.

Don't you mean a wicker man?

True, and hence totally inappropriate to this thread. :)

Pretty sure he'd have more important things to be concerned with as in famine and disease. If he existed, I'm sure it would have been live and let live.

Christianity doesn't have an issue with gay love, just the physical act of that love.

Atheists don't have a problem with religious people, just when their religion screws with other people's lives.

The article doesn't give any support for the title, neither does it consider the opposing point of view.

So you disagree with Sulla's point of view because he's a Christian?
