Oh, yes MrBernay, I had not noticed my 11,000th post coming up just now. I recall you congratulating me on my 1,000th just 6 short weeks after joining DS. Time, and posts sure fly by. ;-)

    Congrats, Richard.

Ben Elton must have modelled himself on Charlie Harper.

By mid 1979 Darts looked totally out of place yet only 12 months earlier they were about to have the third of 3 consecutive singles to peak at number 2.

Their version of 'Duke Of Earl' sounds very uninspired and very anaemic.
What a relief we can still say this about generic tracks even in the middle of a fab year like 1979.

UK Subs......UK Sucks more like! Terrible noise.

The UK Subs lead singer looks like one of the presenters from Chock-a-Block.

Yay! Their best song. Should've been a hit first time round.

Still think Chrissie Hynde would beat me up for my lunch money.

'Kid' by The Pretenders introduced by Kid Jensen. The story doing the rounds at the time was it was actually about him. I don't know if it was ever true though.

    Good song.

Pretenders had some good singles but their albums were horrible rocky stuff.

I remember reading in "Sounds" at the time that Chrissie once went knickerless on ToTP - what a rebel.

Save the full name for when I've been naughty Gulftastic! :D

Chrissie Hynde looks just as good today. Enjoyed her on the Norton Show a couple of weeks back. She hasn't lost it has she.

Must have been a lot of people who bought their first album and thought "who the hell is this?"
