BBC or ITV to watch the WC Final

What channel will you be watching? I'll have BBC on purely because they dont go to ads every 2 minutes before kick off, no Adrian Chiles, no Ian Wright. BBC can just about put up with Lineker and Hansen, no interruptions and slightly better commentary.

itv they have been superior throughout, much more relaxed, Fabio, Lee and Martin are very good additions and they beach setting has made it much more watchable.

As for the ad comments, let's see which BBC-1 programme the other side plug tonight before kick off.

ITV if they aren't in the Studio, one final chance for the pundits to be swept away

BBC 1 HD they always seem to have the better coverage.

ITV - have preferred their coverage over the BBC throughout the tournament.

My family are watching it on BBC One, I think it's inevitable for most viewers, no endless ads about betting, lame punditry and Adrian Chiles.

It will be interesting to see the final viewing figures. History shows its usually about 3-1 in favour of BBC. But with ITV having covered England's qualifying campaign will they close the gap as viewers are more used to their commentary team? Personally I will flick between BBC 1 HD and RTE2HD, the latter's advert breaks tend to be less annoying than ITV's.

I don't think the punditry has been that bad this time on ITV, but the ads will be a big issue for most people.

I expect the ratio to be similar to last time - 13m BBC, 3m ITV. The press will make a big deal of it tomorrow but ITV will still make money from the advertising. ITV's task is to avoid any technical issues, that's the most they can do tonight.

There is an argument for ITV to put their coverage on ITV4, and to put a good film on ITV (1). I assume they have already looked at the commercial aspects of this.

The match is Germany v Argentina, it would be nice if either channel offered a non-stop xenophobic commentary - a wogan style eurovision. When some player scores and does that stupid fingers to the air gesture call him a plonker.
Mark Lawrenson could be forgiven anything if he really lets fly tonight.

In 2010, the BBC #WorldCupFinal coverage peaked with 17.9m, whilst ITV peaked with 3.8m, both during extra time.

so will it be like that again?

Just flicked between channels using split screen on my TV for a minute (yes, I really have nothing better to do), and I reckon the furthest ahead are as follows:
    1) BBC red button via satellite (a.k.a. channels 982 & 984)
    2) BBC1 SD via satellite
    3) BBC red button via terrestrial (a.k.a. channel 302)
    4) BBC1 HD via satellite
    5) BBC1 SD via terrestrial
    6) ITV SD via satellite
    7) ITV HD via satellite
    8) ITV SD via terrestrial

Watching first half on ITV. Second half on BBC. Couldn't decide lol.

How will I manage if it goes to extra time/penalties? Probably watch ZDF to hear their reactions! :)

    EDIT: It's on ARD....

ITV. Have much preferred Adrian Chiles and his pundits (even got used to Fabio now!) so I'm sticking with them.

ITV for me at half time due to Hoddle's very wild windswept hair!
