Hi I wonder if anyone can help me, I am currently in Denmark visiting some family and friends and I booked my boat home from Esberg to Harwich for the 6th of this month thinking my passport was going to run out on the 9th but as I've just checked and it runs out on the 5th for some reason I always thought it expired on the 9th now I am really worried and can't get in touch with DFDS Seaways as there phone lines are down, should I just go to the boat anyways and explain my case? surely they should let me return home and it will of only been expired by a day? Thanks in advance

I agree with those who say don't point it out. I don't know how you are travelling, by car or on foot, but just act as natural as you can. Perhaps others who are more familiar with Harwich's passport control can give you more advice.
Enjoy Denmark and have a nice big beer & delicious pastry for me! ;-)
I'm going to have to agree with this. Don't let it ruin your holiday xx
I could think of worse places to be sent back to than Denmark!! ;-)
Possibly. You may never be allowed to return again or if you do you may have to creep in undercover as an illegal immigrant:D
Agree with this.
You could email or phone them for advice.

New tough immigration rules from our dear leader
Enjoy your holiday, come back on an earlier ferry.
At a big price...beer ins so expensive
E2a: the extension might only be for passports of British people living overseas. Even so, I don't think you'll have a problem, OP. But you could call the British Embassy in Copenhagen and explain your worries to them... as JimmyConnors suggested upthread.
Ah but compared to Sweden & Norway, Denmark's booze is quite cheap! ;-)
Way too expensive when compared to neighbouring Germany, but it's nice stuff
