Tut! the 6 month checkups don't cost me anything as its on the NHS. The only thing that costs me money at the dentist are the hygenist scale and polish cleans (costind about £10.90 a time currently) every 3 months while I have the brace on and my extractions I needed before getting the brace put on - I got 2 teeth taken out, they charged under £20 for that. Its not exactly majorly expensive.
I'm off to the orthodontist to get my brace adjusted on Wednesday morning. It already feels swollen and its not been touched already, like it knows its about to be prodded and adjusted again(!) blah. I wish it was all over with already. Ah well, one year to go(!).
Fair enough but still, if you're gums are bleeding when you're brushing then I would say that getting your arse to a dentist would be a pretty high priority. But point taken.
I sometimes get bleeding gums and I've been told I have a tendency to get flare ups of gum disease on my lower gums but its already known about. I've had bleeding every now and again, it usually stops after a couple of days - its if its like a ton of blood for more than a day, or say constant bleeding for over a week, then I'd definitely phone and insist on being seen. My mum also complains that the Corsodyl ad is a bit of a con because she reckons gets bleeding gums ocassionally-their just trying to flog their product. She's had issues with gum disease for ages and she hasn't had to have a single tooth removed *shrug*
I do agree if you get regular bleeding when brushing, or your teeth feel especially painful or anything like that then definitely report it though, just a little bit every now and then doesn't necessarily automatically mean you need emergency treatment. You have to try and keep things in perspective but also try and be careful, yeah. Oh and I think there's a daily defence version of the mouthrinse you can get, to help prevent gum issues. I used to use it before I got the braces put on, so there's that, though I think its a bit more expensive than other mouthrinses.
I was told last week I've been brushing my gums too hard and the gumline is eroding apparently, hence the sore patch I felt - I thought I hadn't been brushing hard enough(!) sheesh, you can't win!.
I love coffee but it stains your teeth pretty badly... though I doubt I'll ever ween myself off the stuff.... I've tried and it just gave me a headache. Neeeed caffeeeeine!!
Long shot - If anyone knows anything about twitter/re-setting social network accounts, I'd be grateful if you could perhaps check my thread in the advice forum. I seem unable to reset my twitter password, its baffling me and I'd like to try and get it sorted out. My laptop is clogged up, it crashed badly earlier on and really I'd like to try and sort it out but probably ought to dump my temporary internet files and cookies and I can't really while I seem to be unable to log in to twitter.
Anyway, had some JW's come to the door... Yippeee!
I asked them if I have to ditch my non JW friends if I join them and the guy said yes! 😳
They also gave me some literature, they've gone and got a website! On the front is an iphone with what looks like a flood scene and a finger doing something. I might grab this app... I soooooo hope its the water level that you control! 😏
