Missed to opening couple of hours. Anyone know if he's running the desk or who is?
He's made a couple of references to not fading himself or Bobbi up. Not sure if that means he's got full or part control. Not that it really matters who is driving the desk.

That be part control similar to what Graham, Paul O'Grady and few others do. The control room up load and play the music, jingles etc..
Jonathan doesn't seem he's been off the radio for 6 years.
He's done a lot of celebrity TV recently Tipping Point and be on Through The Keyhole this weekend. Quite unusual as he really never used to do that stuff.

And on Just A Minute a couple of weeks ago, reaching out to the R4 audience.
Great show today and a bit of a dig at Steve about wanting to sing along with the end of the songs but didn't. Nice interaction with Bobbi too.
Good to have him back and of course the obligatory Bowie track in the show.
Yeah, he said it drives him nuts, although he's not the only one to have had a dig. I'm sure I've heard Ken Bruce have a pop at Steve Wright for that as well on more than one occasion.
I tuned in to hear him, which I rarely do nowadays, only to be met with Jonathan Ross. I recall this date back in 1982 on a long car journey as a young teenager with his Radio 1 afternoon show on air and him mentioning his 28th birthday. Where the hell did all that time go to so fast?

Bring back Mr.Angry! >:(
20 years ago he was on Radio 1 breakfast, did he present that on his 40th. Odd to think of the Radio - breakfast host hitting, 40, that's not allowed these days, although Steve didn't hang round at Radio 1 much longer, suspect he walked though.
Then again today's Radio 1 presenter and newly announced Strictly contestant is in his 40s, I remember hearing him on breakfast when I was at uni, now well over 35, keep it up Scott.
So if Steve retires, Jonathan, Scott or Moyles? All would do a great job and should already have Radio 2 slots.
He's just a natural - I love him on the radio. He really deserves a regular show.
I don't particularly like Ross but, from the bit I heard yesterday, he was far better than Wright and also better than most of the stand-ins they have used.

He's just glad of any publicity to keep him in the limelight

IMO any of them would be better. Ross was great yesterday: he sounded as if he was thoroughly enjoying it all, much sparkier than Wright ever does. I think it will be Scott Mills, though, who makes it as replacement. Moyles seems a little out of favour with the Beeb, although Jo Whiley or Sara Cox are also in with a chance.
Radio 2 changed their entire jingle package a while back, the 7 note jingle is different to save money because they had to pay for the old ones if they wanted to keep using them
Umm no, the lack of posts on this subject could mean that his return is not as popular as it might have been. Roll on Monday....
Seriously? DS isn't an indication on how popular someone is.Besides I don't see a lack of posts as we are now on the 5th page. Ross is certainly more popular than the other sit ins.

In 1999 Steve Wright's Saturday morning show on Radio 2 ended and he was replaced by Jonathan Ross. Could history be about to repeat

If my work is anything like the typical UK workplace most of us are enjoying the show this week..
Was that another dig at Jurassic Wright yesterday with a "love the show" comment?
