I think you'll find it's the other way round. How else are they supposed to get their food if they're locked up???

No it isnt the other way round. They work in the morning, collect their meals on trays and return to their cells to eat.

The scenes in the gym remind me so much of Acorn Antiques when for one week only they decided to turn the Antique Shop into a Health and Beauty Spa. Cue scenes of Celia Imrie and Victoria Wood sweating and puffing on bikes and treadmills while people wandered about in the background buying paintings. Mary and Julie on that cross trainer thing was so ludicrously reminiscent of this.

Steve and the VW Campervan. As an ex owner of a vintage VW that was never in the sort of nick of Steve's current one, can I just say he must have won the lottery to afford a van like that. It's worth about £30k. Huge SOR that it's appeared out of nowhere and is being left out on the cobbles and attended to by a non-specialist VW mechanic.

Wasn't Acorn Antiques a pee-take of the poor production values of Crossroads? Someone should do one of Corrie! Their production values etc are far worse. The prog has become poorly produced, amateur and laughable. If it was a new prog just starting out, it would be axed. Pat Phoenix, Doris Speed et al will be swivelling.

Used to LOVE Acorn Antiques! And yes, it was a piss take of Crossroads.

Would LOVE to see a version of Acorn Antiques associated with Corrie.

Although to be fair, we'd all know what it would be like, as it would be full of all the SOR's that we've all seen!!!

I still can't get over this pristine splitty appearing UNDER BUDGET in Steve's own words. Mr Kivi's family is vw mad (they restore them too) and I've no idea how Steve's been able to afford it. No mention of where the funds came from as far as I know.

Jim's booze was hidden in flour or something similar - I would have thought there was a good chance of that being discovered fairly swiftly when some baking needed doing. Also, exactly what IS this booze? It looks like something passed by a horse. Are we to believe that Jim has a still secreted in another kitchen cupboard that the chef has failed to notice?
Peter would be receiving medical help for his alcohol withdrawal problems, even in prison. Problems that never manifested when he was first incarcerated.

I'm guessing it's some sort of prison home brew (wine presumably). It would be virtually impossible to smuggle bottles of alcohol into prison at visiting time.

Steve's finances have always been a source of wonder. He has been able to buy children, a pub, a taxi company and now a vintage vehicle with comparative ease. Not that I'd want him any other way:D

How come no one has any noise issues with the Webster's garage being on a residential street? There must be constant revving of engines etc, but this never comes across when the characters are sitting in their front rooms.

Because there's never any engine revving! They only look under the bonnet with a spanner in hand, lift a car on the hoist or wipe their hands with an oily rag.

Just as the machinists only ever hold and look at knickers, and the hairdressers sweep the floor or brush hair.

The only ones to do any actual work are in the pub, the Kabin, the cafe, Dev's or the gym - eating, drinking and moving.

I remember when he fell out with Lloyd and Lloyd went and bought a fleet of mini cabs overnight, only for for them all to be vandalised the next day and then back with Steve in less than a week with no financial downside at all.

Why do we never actually see scenes of Emily or Roy looking after the kids?

Because this is a drama and not everything that happens in the internal world of a drama gets shown. Nobody is ever shown just sitting and watching a film from beginning to end either.

I should imagine a taxi firm is quite lucrative especially when all the residents of the Street use them even though there's a bus stop round the corner, the Rovers does a roaring trade in spite of competition from the Bistro and then there's the income from MIchelle's wedding planner services to come :D

It was the same when Tommy turned up with a fixer upper , for a couple of hundred quid( I wonder where it went to?) it was worth thousands even in that state, the same with Emmerdale, Dan turns up with a vee dub that he had bought cheap, all of the soaps seem to think that they can be picked up for a couple of quid, if only!

Why do we never actually see scenes of Emily or Roy looking after the kids? Actually, because it would mean having more air time for the kids which I guess is limited, but it wouldn't be a bad thing to just shoehorn a few in here and there to add a little realism to the concept!

or even see her pushing a pram or push-chair; doesn't have to be a speaking part, and we could even just see her in the background, and with the right camera angle, the pram can even be empty. A simple solution to an onrunning SOR.

I thought it was sawdust, which I assume they might use to soak up spillages.

It looked to me like rice. If it was flour then the bottles and the persons hand would have been covered in it.

The irony is Victoria Wood did a fabulous "homage" to early Corrie in black and white as a hairnet battleaxed Ena Sharples. It was brilliant and so respectful of the terrific acting displayed back then, poor Violet Carson will be whirring in her grave as well.

Refering to Simon and Amy at Lilly's party, Tracey dumped them there, which is odd because Simon was dressed up. Also Max had to have an ice cream because all the other children had one, Including Amy who is lactose intolerant?

It would be nice to see them actually doing this, so that we could then believe it when it was referred to! A little like having Mary looking after Asda and Aldi - if this is referred to now, it would seem more natural, because we've seen her do it!

Steve won a lot of money from gambling in the 1990s, which is where he got the money to start up his original business, although I doubt there is any left.

And how come there's no oil stains on the street or the garage floor?!

This rings a bell with me, I seem to recall at the time thinking how shamelessly the writers had lifted the plot of Carry on Cabby! Pity Amanda Barrie had already departed Corrie when they ran this storyline.

I thought he got money from Vicky to start that business? Wasn't he in trouble with his gambling? Vaguely recall something like that.
