Congratulations. Grandchildren are the best ever. Great fun and so loving too. We have twins due in November. Son in law has just asked me if I could babysit all 4 to let them go to a wedding in November. Eh............bloody hell.
Ooh, good luck
Our smallest bedroom is gone - it's a nursery
I do unfortunately. It's only 7 stone, 2lbs in real money anyway. I did do a similar bet about 3 years ago but, let's say, "life" got in the way and I put most of the weight back on.
I've been assured the confirmation letter will come and that the bet is live, but I don't think i'll be entirely happy until i get the letter, mainly because i can't believe how lucky i've been in getting a second chance and for more than double the money I won last time.
I don't weigh much more than that!!:o I'm pretty small though, barely 5ft. Good luck with the weight loss, are you going to follow a specific diet?

Thanks!. So when you meant almost a whole person, you meant it literally
I'm not going to follow anything specific other than reading food labels and generally going for the lowest fat option possible and generally cutting out the crap. I tried counting calories last time but i lasted about a day before it annoyed me !
The main thing i'll be doing is lots and lots of walking. Towards the end of the last diet, i was managing to walk 2-3 miles a day, every day and I think that's what basically helped me lose it.
It's all made all the more intruiging by the fact that when I win this bet, i'll likely be offered a further bet to keep if off for another 12 months which could be double or nothing
as i say, i'll be joining the weight loss thread in advice in a few weeks when i've got a couple of weeks stats behind me. the first week always looks a bit weedy
My bet is to lose 100lbs in weight by August the 18th 2015. I've been given odds of 100/1 with a £25 pound stake, so i stand to win £2,525 next August.
You certainly can bet on weight loss. William Hill are the only bookies in the country that take those kinds of bet though.
If you lose your bet, blame it squarely on me!
Anyway, my good news:
One part of my old school where some of my worst childhood memories took place has finally bitten the dust! It was the changing rooms to be precise. (The actual old sports hall still stands, but is being converted into special education classrooms).
I've just finished reading a really good novel, and I've just started another one which seems equally thrilling! Such is my life.
Is there anything quite satisfying as reaching the last page of a book? People that don't read, don't understand how good the sense of accomplishment is....

I find it quite sad though sometimes. Like saying goodbye to a good friend.
