    Thanks Mike.

I expected as much. Pretty much 8m from 8-9pm and the peak coming when X Factor ended.

Thanks for these. Both built their audiences, but that's great momentum for Strictly! I'm guessing CBB and Houdini didn't do too well?

Brilliant for Strictly, good for X Factor. Great for The Village, poor for Whicher.

    I think that covers it.

"Such a shame they were both on at the same time!" = I might have lost but we're still going to come after the BBC in the press. ;-)

Thanks Mike. So around 8.2m for Strictly in the clash period, still a brilliant rating for it considering the clash, not all down to those last 15 minutes then.

@SimonCowell: So the numbers are in. Strictly peak 9.4. X Factor peak 9.2. Round one to them. Such a shame they were both on at the same time!

    :p

So XF peaked only 0.2m behind Strictly? Well's that not too bad.

Yes clearly because Strictly will have obviously dented it by more than 0.4m.

    Of course.

So what does this mean for when Strictly returns. Is Charlotte Moore that desperate to clash with XF that we're going to find more than 30minutes overlap?

ITV should just stick with 8pm for XF, then LIVE shows move it to 7:30/7:45pm so its not going beyond 10pm.

Houdini - 910k - I liked it, shame it wasn't a normal two hour film
    CBB - 1295 (+1 202k)

I think the magic of Strictly comes from making you like people you didn't necessarily know before. I'd argue all the winners haven't been the most famous people in the cast, Who would've heard of Mark Ramprakash, Abbey Clancy, Harry Judd or Tom Chambers, not exactly household names but their progression on the show made you like them and they went on to win the show- The cast is good, mixed and by the looks of the group dance, will be very competitive and entertaining and that's why the show works (and will continue to work long after XF is off air imo)

I've always said that it's stupid TXF Saturday show ending around 9.50pm (or later). ITV should have the show on earlier and last no more than 90 minutes.

If clashes happen then so be, SCD will have a greater catch up figure due to all powerful iPlayer (so BBC won't lose out).
